For publicity should put some of Manly's biggest stars in Sea Eagles strip styled on American football, like DCE in #7 and Olakau'atu in #12. Even find a maroon helmet.
Should still be able to integrate sponsors into it too.
I'd put the entire Many squad in the gear and play the Las Vegas game wearing it (except the helmets).
If Manly want to gain attention.
Gets away from that 'rugby' thing and focuses on 'football'.

If they want to appeal to the Americans they need to do better. I agree specialised American Style playing strips should be approved for those two games. It’s all about due diligence and not only knowing the product but the market that you are trying to attract.

Where are they going to get the white "shorts" from? Just Jeans?

100%. They seem to be up against it just being pigeon holed as being "rugby" (union) and no no no we're rugby league. Like any American would care. To them its a distinction without a difference.

Far better to forget "rugby" and focus on NRL being "football" and do that with similar playing uniforms to NFL and a very simple explanation that NRL and NFL games are not that different. NRL has six downs (not four) and there is no forward pass.

There are plenty of people here in the UK who can't differentiate between the two codes. Unless you're a fan of either then both are just "rugby".
Trying to get Americans interested is a waste of time, they only play sports that they can call themselves world champions without playing anyone outside of the US. It's just a junket for all the media

Leaked email reveals possible visa issues for Vegas games

The four Las Vegas-bound NRL clubs are reportedly calling for an urgent meeting with Peter V’Landys as confusion grows around players getting visas.

The Broncos, Roosters, Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles will square off in a double-header on March 2, but the clubs are worried whether all their players will be able to enter America.

The teams leave in less than a month for the matches at Allegiant Stadium and clubs are frustrated with the lack of information from head office on visas, medical insurance and training facilities in the US.

Club bosses wrote to NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo on December 16 asking for a meeting to resolve the issues.

The NRL reportedly indicated to the clubs for months that players could travel to the US on an ESTA, which waives the traveller from needing a visa, but that advice changed last Friday.

The NRL emailed the clubs to warn that players who had been arrested could face challenges entering the US.

The email said players now have three options for entry and graded each approach: an athletes’ visa (most conservative); a visitors’ visa (conservative); and an ESTA (least conservative).

Rabbitohs boss Blake Solly said his club still supported the groundbreaking venture into the US, but emphasised he wanted their questions answered by the NRL.

“The four clubs are completely supportive of the NRL’s vision for the USA and the match in Las Vegas,” Solly told The SMH.

“An ambitious project of this nature is always going to have its logistical challenges, like the visa issue. Ideally, these logistical issues are solved ASAP, so we can focus solely on promoting the game and working with the NRL to ensure this event is the success it deserves to be”.

V’landys said he would address and fix any and all issues.

“I understand their frustrations,” he said.

“However, I’m a 100 per cent confident all the matters will be resolved very quickly. I appreciate their strong support for the concept. We’re all on the same team promoting this. If it succeeds, it could be one of the greatest things to happen to the game.”

This whole Vegas trip just goes to show how poorly the \NRL is run. Im all for the game but when it was announced Velhandy and his Saffa mate should have had everything locked down.

Travel plans, training facilities, visa's, NFL team hookups (no I'm not talking about the cheerleaders)

We are such small fry compared to how other comps are run.

But you can bet they've had the betting sponsorships and arrangements locked in from day one. Nothing's more important than the same day multi!

Another job that Abdo should be all over, but yet again, PVL has to step in and clean up his mess. Abdo is a total failure in everything he touches. All this should of been all sorted last year, not 6 weeks out.
Maybe they should of let Flight Centre do the whole shebang.

Amateur hour!
OK, we can say they are having a go, but its embarrassing, as others have mentioned, all should of been organised last year at least. Some good ideas here on how to make a bigger impact, and get noticed more, but are the NRL going to save their pennies for a go over there again in another 40 years time and do it again? Perhaps there may be a Mum or Dad or even grandparent, that might remember the last time League visited. Is it all for a bit of fun, because if you don't hit them all the time, you will not make an impact, it would take massive, regular investment, determined will and some very clever people, all of which I don't believe the NRL has, lets face it, its just another exhibition game, at least I hope they get a chance to see Manly win.

In the short term, will we be concerned if Mitchell & Wighton aren't granted visas :)

Whether they play or not, I'm expecting a Sea Eagles victory :trophy:
