Not gunna cry - but fu* these refs

Yep, a whole bunch of chicken wing tackles were permitted to go unpunished last night.
And they were so obvious I think it was Saab and also Slippers who ae out clutching their shoulders. Absolutely disgraceful performance to let it go from the ref touches and bunker.

Letting a knock on go is one thing but obvious maiming tactics is a completely different t thing altogether

No , retired refereee who has nothing to do with the game and is in no way aligned to either side.

It’s never going to happen but it would be interesting to see what stats came out of it compared to the game live.

I get that refs are human , they’ll make mistakes and we can’t be critical of that but there seems at times to be bias on play , wether that’s perceived or not would be be the outcome of this!!

But will never happen of course.
Silly me thought that was actually part Annesly job

Haha, thought I picked the experts 😂

You know we always bag the refs ( and often for good reason ) but I’d love to see an analysis of a game , done set by set , with replays and slow motion of an entire game by a completely non biased , relative “ expert “ on the game and see how the stats pan out.

So that’s , “ should have been a six again “ , “ should have been a penalty “ , “ that wasn’t a penalty “ , “ they’ve missed be there “ etc etc .

it would be really interesting!!!
A rugby league match would then take as long as a baseball match.

There's no excuses for the bunker missing the chicken wing !!
Very true and also the high shot on Kapow - they usually call penalty 3 sets later on these reviews, seen it 10 times this year, yet they said it was too late to act on it last night, as a few tackles had lapsed since the incident...

Some howlers off the top.

1. In 2nd min. DCE pushed over at play the ball and no 6 again.

2. the faders player kick forward playing the ball and went ignored

2. chicken wing in harper left him grabbing shoulder- this led to the scuffle when he scored as same player came in late - penalty try was not even considered.

3. marty high tackle.

4. guler knock on at play the ball - no advantage called even though advantage was taken since tackle was completed and player held.- this led to a try

5. schuster sin bin - any other time in the game its a 6 again. Sin bin is only for a professional foul in a try scoring position. Having 20 secs left doesn’t permit a change in the way rules apply. Not manlys fault faders left it to final 20 secs to make a play.

How can bias not exist esp since we win 20% with this moron.

Another pet hate ... last night the ref called out to Mansour from Souths chasing a kick that he was offside ... Mansour stopped running and his team mates tackled the kick receiver near his own 10m line and then the team had to work it out ... The alternative was for the Ref to mind his own fukking business, wait to Mansour made the tackle, then penalise the dope .. difference is that then Penrith kick up to the 50m line and start a set in attacking position .

This pisses me off. .. it is interference that has large consequences ..

It‘s a pretty regular thing, from memory Sip’s and Walk’s were both given the call from the ref in our game last night, which otherwise would of resulted in us getting penalised, but I get where your coming from, it’s altering games and on the surface of things cannot be fair, nor appropriate, it’s open to and equal to biased on field coaching from the ref.

I don't have an issue with the second one as you can play it again with your foot if you kick it forward. Usually the player tries to pick it up and replay it which is a penalty.
You can add the one in the second one half when they lost control of the ball on the last tackle and it came off the chest of the Manly player who didn't play at it. Gee ruled play on and it was only when he realised that it would be the last tackle that he ruled 6 again.
Also have you ever seen a ref call time off as fast as Gee did after the last try. He nearly called time off before awarding the try.

Where are you going to find a relative who is an expert?

Did you know??

Manly have played 21 games with Adam Gee as the (or one of the) referee(s) since the first time he refereed one of our games in 2014 (an 18-34 loss to the Tigpies at Leichhardt).

We have an 8-13 record under Gee.

Last night was actually the 4th time we beat Canberra with Gee as ref.

I saw this happen in at least 2 games in the last week or two. Refs clearly have been instructed that deliberate time-wasting as the clock runs down is a professional foul and I don't mind that at all. I am surprised our players were not aware of it though.

The video ref took waaaay to long pick up the Taupau high shot. He got up grimising and holding his jaw FFS . Should have been right on to it.
Typical manly fashion we don't lay down like most other clubs for less.
