With all due respect to Matt Orford, I hope this doesn't happen. The best result for all concerned is for Matt to go to the ESL and Manly to "refresh" their overall halves/attacking structure with a new combination.
As an outsider looking in.....the decision making process at the club looks to be, in a state of confusion (to put it nicely). It seems to me, in the absence of a CEO, Des is making the calls in regards to who stays or goes. There needs to be some input from the administration side because money and the salary cap are big factors.
So....even though the "non retention" of Matt seems to have come about more by accident than design.......now it has happened the club needs to move ahead. The likes of Hodkinson, Foran and Cherry-Evans deserve their chance.
