1- trboyevicHarry I have to disagree. I think Kelly in only his first year in League did an outstanding job. he had a lapse mid season (not at all surprising for a first year player) and came back with a bang. The kid has silky skills and by next year could be rep standard
That is one hell of a backline1- trboyevic

Kelly does not make that backline, and he is nowhere near a rep player standard.... yet

Perhaps it was 9/10/1917 - the first announcement about upgrading brookvale oval. Apparently we had secured funding from the NSW Premier, Jack Lang.
Hopoate isnt even first grade standard. I dont see the up side in signing an overrated slow centre for over 500k while we can have Kelly who is first year in and had a much better season than Flopoate.1- trboyevic

We likely wouldn't sign him for over 500K, but regardless of price you need to factor in that he was playing with parramatta during their wooden spoon glory years, and then the dogs in their '****ING SACK DES'-Kennel member years. Hoppa was always under the ball and always was reliable. He will be great for helping trbo. At centre, in a team that has a right to play football, and in a team with players like dce, walker, uate, trbo, taufua etc, he will be able to show his true ability again.Hopoate isnt even first grade standard. He will not come for any less that 500k, he is on 600k at Dogs and he would even be worth it if he came at 300k. He has no x factor what so ever, no speed or skill. He is a solid first grader nothing more. And I do not want him teaching Tom, as Hoppa him self is a centre/winger.We likely wouldn't sign him for over 500K, but regardless of price you need to factor in that he was playing with parramatta during their wooden spoon glory years, and then the dogs in their '****ING SACK DES'-Kennel member years. For an entertaining tonga side he played brilliantly, for the shocking dogs and eels he has a positive, although small impact (imo due to circumstances). There is a correlation there. If he comes to manly, I strongly believe he'll fix up the defence on our weakest edge, he'll tutor trbo on field positioning and he'll get the best out of surrounding players through all his ball handling skills and through the new skills learnt he'd have learnt at the back over the years
The dogs pack were practically the same as 2016. I didn't see anything bad from him this year, he was just quiet, and had no opportunities due to his side, which as a fullback is needed. At centre he can get involved more often without being dependent on service from players around him. Their forwards were pathetic, got over-involved and were slow. No back can do anything with such a ****ty foundation, there's a reason they had to sign Woods, a hugely expensive forward. Hoppa's positioning was up there with the best in the comp so no reason he shouldn't teach trbo at least that, as trbo was constantly found out in that aspect this season. He will not come for any less that 500k, he is on 600k at Dogs and he would even be worth it if he came at 300k. He had the chance to play footy in 2016 with the Dogs behind a power pack and did nothing. He would be up there with signing Lewis Brown to play centre as a bad signing.

You forgot the bit where we sign some bum from another club who everyone hails as the next messiah, building up our hopes for a premiership winning season and then the bum turns out to be nothing more than ... a bum! It’s a bit like that isn’t it?
The worst parts of off season are ( same most years).
1) not knowing what the final make up will be for the next year, and often we won’t know until December, so that’s two full months of this crap, and two months of rumours, posters discrediting each other’s rumours and slagging off at the sports journo’s ( that part I like ).
2) then from about February , when the Silvertails natives are starting to get very restless and most threads degenerate into a mud slinging , name calling children’s playground.
Thank goodness inbetween there’s fishing and cricket!
PS: that last comment is sure to bring out some dislikes!!!
Klemmer's ship has sailed, Supreme Leader said that Hoppa was a chance (I think it was SL, sorry if not). So I don't think we can rub it out yet, he does have a contract though, although then again, contracts aren't all thatSomeone needs to inform the football department at Manly that they're looking at bringing Hopoate over from Canterbury, because they aren't aware of it. The guy signed a contract to play 1 at the Dogs and he would have to play centre at Manly...something I imagine he and his manager are not overly keen on doing, given the money that a fullback can generate in the market, as opposed to centre. I guess that's beside the point though because he will be a Bulldog next year.
It will also take some serious trouble for Klemmer to leave the Dogs and even if he did, it'll take a mammoth effort to get him to Manly considering so many other clubs would be interested and willing to throw coin at him. Players and their managers are not dumb, if they seek a release, they explore ALL options, they don't just pick Manly because we want them to!
Also, the NRL only clear players when clubs try to select them for a match (as Manly did in 2016). The club is not waiting on a clearance for Jamil because they haven't got him in their full-time squad...there was talk of him moving into this squad but it's still up in the air.
Geez Bozo. Maybe you need a 10 day cooling off period!I guess we are all different . All I ever think of is Sea eagles and Sex , Sex and Sea eagles , Sea eagles and sex, Sex and Sea eagle . I wish I had thought of that one.Governor Arthur Phillip passed through Beacon Hill on his way to Broken Bay in 1789, naming the landmark.
He was heard to remark to Capt Tench and Capt Hunter that he would set aside the substantial sum of 25 pounds for the development of sports grounds at the bottom of that hill next week.
Yeah but how come the people in the football department at Manly don't know about it, if it's happening?Klemmer's ship has sailed, Supreme Leader said that Hoppa was a chance (I think it was SL, sorry if not). Oh, sorry, didn't know you knew of a member of the football department. Hang on, are you that member? Have I been bamboozled all this timeYeah but how come the people in the football department at Manly don't know about it, if it's happening?
