is that pepsi questioning management - shaking your head at kings re-signing certainly sounds that way, but you would never

not questioning management, King was playing well when signed, unfortunately since signing he spends more time on the bench or puncing about on the field ( bar the roosters game ) for my liking.

In regards to my support of manly, Fluffster i suggest you dont tread those waters.

I merely said we have not got the value out of Kylie due to his lack of discipline and Hecks while an absolute battler isnt a prop who will dominate to win a premiership. ie Cement/Spud in the 90s and Kev Ward in the 80s, simply some opinions Fluff so it your tunnel vision allows me to have that without having my support of the club questioned id appreciate it.

just the same things i have copped from you about my opinions, but hey its different the other way around.

I never said you werent a supporter - just that sometimes you make me wonder

I already know you have no idea

Orford for $1 Million

souths can beat it and stay on the bottom of the ladder wher they belong!!! orford is coming home!

if souths get anasta ben walker can go to the dogs to resurect his career - even swap i say!!

It is not worth getting in a bidding war over Orford. He will come at a price which is no where near his ability. To think we snagged Monas for 240K, despite some people doubting his talent, Orford is not worth 300K more than Monaghan.

For mine, Bailey will cost way too much as well. He has been linked to the Sharks to replace Stevens who is on almost 400K a year, out of our price range.

IMO, a star centre is MUST! Someone that can break the line, set up a try, defend well, and score a try.

One of............ Shaun Berrigan/Steven Bell

I think we still lack a bit in the pack IMO.......... release one of Kylie and Hecks.

One of Nate Myles/Jason Cayless.

Flick Dunley and Randall to make way for Craig Wing.

Then bolster our depth with some young blokes on the up, especially in the front row and centre/wing.

1. Stewart
2. Donald
3. Alberts
4. Berrigan/Bell
5. Hicks
6. Witt
7. Monaghan
8. Kite
9. Wing
10. Cayless/Myles
11. Menzies
12. Watmough
13. Kennedy

14. King
15. G Stewart/Williamson
16. Harris
17. Leuluai

I have a feeling that the club is happy with the pack though, and will bolster the halves/centres.

    *Dreams of premiership in 2006*

Forgot that there was a salary cap for a second, but apparently that doesn't matter if you believe the Souths debarcle.

That team is very possible if some sponsors want to chuck in a ferw grand here and there.

Why all the sudden talk of dumping Hecks ? He's been injured, yes, but that doesn't mean that he will be next year.
Can you really imagine Wing leaving the rorters? I can't .

Dunley would be on peanuts and is definitely value for money. He's been nothing short of terrific for us this year.

These thoughts are for the future. I am proud of what the team has achieved but you have to be realistic about just how good they are.

I have always been a great advocate of a dominating pair of bookends. I don't believe we have that. Kite could be anything and deep down i feel he will come up to the mark. Deadset King needs to show something some time this year or I say cut the losses and pay out his contract. Hecks, Dunley, Willo are toilers and every team needs them, especially at rep time. Kylie is not going to make it and flick Randall. I believe we need to sign another big hitting prop like Spud, Cement, Ward (as said before). We have tried an endless parade of gonnabes in this role and we should go for Webcke (who will be offered peanuts to stay), Mason (sorry i said that), Vella, that type of prop. Monas to hooker maybe next year and you don't need Wing. The back row is tops at the moment.

We have speedsters in the club who will probably make the grade on the wing. What we don't have is the classy centres who can defend AND attack. Missing M. King is a real blow.

The shopping list should be for a prop, two centres, and then look at the halves.

All valid & well thought out MB, but here comes the inevitable.
Centres - One not two, I have & believe that the club has confidence in Flash Ash. The way he has played in PL has backed up the hype that surrounded his signing, he was signed as one blue chip centre. Do we need two, well only if we can afford it. If Ash doesn't live up to his potential then yes we need centres.
Props - We have the toilers as you said and the class in Kite & supposedly King. The trouble with discarding Hecks or Kylie is that they along with Choc & BK1 are the only providors of go forward this year. Go forward is what we need, so buying it in place of what we already have is poitless we need to add to it. We need a Morley.
Halves - Maybe a new halfback with Monas to hooker would work but there is no one out there who fits the bill unless a young bloke somewhere is available.

My shopping list would be for a mongrel pig forward, then a young halfback & maybe a centre if we have the money.
Having said that, I'm one of the delusional supporters that thinks this team has the goods if they can all get it together at once.

Im with you duff on Flash - we will no more on satdy.

I think we need one more centre first, then a good young backrower on the up. Bk and Beaver will struggle to play the 2007 season, but that would be it.

If travis burns isnt living up to it then certainly get on the look out for the next sterling/lyons ballplaying superstar. The next superstar 5/8 would be high on my list, since we have 2 half backs playing now.

for the record, im not saying anything!!!!!! :wall: :wall: :wall:

... in a way you are... (MB steps into the ring for the first time and regrets it)

dont do it mate, its not worth it, save your self while you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take salary cap away, I'd like to see this next year:-

01. Brett Stewart
02. Scott Donald
03. Shaun Berrigan
04. Ashley Alberts
05. Chris Hicks
06. Michael Witt
07. Michael Monaghan (C)
08. Brent Kite
09. Luke Williamson
10. Stuart Fielden
11. Anthony Watmough
12. Steve Menzies
13. Ben Kennedy

14. Shayne Dunley
15. Jason King
16. Kylie Leuleuai
17. Sam Harris

What would people think of a side like this?

What about Brett Firman if his cheap

if he plays well, he is 7 with Mona's at 9, if not Mona's is 7

Other than that i'd go for Flannery at centre for a year (Lyon and Ash in 06) then he'll move to lock if BK or Beaver retire

i honestly think we are no chance for Berrigan

I was toying with the idea of Flannery at centre next year ealier, but in fairness I'd rather buy a specialist centre, or just stick with Ash and Steppa until Lyon takes Steppa's role over next year.

But I still want Mason.
