Journey Man
Guys, I know we've finished ninth this season, which most certainly isn't bad. Not at all.
That being said, this has been my most unsatisfying year ever as an Eagles fan. It just felt that the passion for our jersey, from the owners, down to the players, down to the fans has been lost somewhat.
That being said, what has been done, has been done. The decisions about our future have been executed, and there is really nothing we can do about it.
The players who are negative about playing here, negative about Toovey, negative about being told to look elsewhere are gone, or are going.
The most exciting time for me as a fan of this club, when I was most passionate, was when we finished 12th, 14th, 11th etc directly after Manly decided to be Manly again - players like Jye Mullane, Scott Donald, Nick Bradley-Kolilara played for us - but boy, they loved playing for us and put their balls on the line every time they hit the park.
It's not just about wins. It's about culture and passion, and everyone pulling in the same direction including the fans.
For that reason, regardless of who put on the jersey, the coaches hat, or the owners bow tie, lets get behind them, support them & hope for the best - these are the people that have given up their lives to be part of Manly, and to be successful (whatever their background may be).
As fans, regardless of whether I agree or disagree with decisions made about the machine knows as The Manly Sea Eagles, this is still my club, worthy of membership and support - they've entertained me forever - they deserve that loyalty.
We will have a fresh coach with new ideas. New players from this years team in Buhrer, Lawrence, Gutherson, Myles, Green, Wright, Lussick, Koroisou, Pearcell and others.
Guess what, they'll all be pulling on our old faithful maroon and white. They all want to be successful and win for themselves, their club and us, the fans.
I really, really hope and pray that all of you die hard, loyal supporters continue to be members, and support our kids coming through in the Trbojevic's, Demetriou's, Knight's and all our other lads.
There is a new hope. Things have been reset. It's turning around the debacle of this season on and off the park, that will make the move hopefully back into the finals so much more satisfying.
Be part of it
