new rules about dropped balls

No this is not a thread about Matabele, but about what appears to be a new NRL rule. Looking at the games in the last three weeks it seems to me that the referees, especially the video refs, are seeing dropped balls in a try scoring movement as not being dropped. They watch as the ball is dropped, and if the player dropping the ball regathers after the ball has hit the ground and then forces the ball, it's a try. Just looking at the Cows second try, a knock-on. Gallen did knock the ball forward before on of the tries by the Flake. It's enough to want to give the game away. Weird really. I was, as were most of Manly's traveling supporters, right in line with the ball supposedly dropped backwards at Shark Park on Monday night. That ball WAS knocked on, even when the player was facing his own line. The ball clearly went forward out of his arms... forward. How a ref on the ground, unsighted, could rule it went backwards is amazing. The video ref should have informed the arse-clown of the fact that it did go forward.

You watch that rule won't apply to us
