New coach Poll

If we go down this avenue, interested in who we think we should target?

I see Matty Ballin is currently leading the poll with 18 votes (22%) Edit: now 19 and 22.4%.

Look, as much as we love Matty Ballin, 2 time Manly Premiership winner and all that ... please remember how bad he was as Blacktown's coach. Hence why he's only been an assistant coach since.

All these suggestions , seriously are they really much better than what we have ??

Just because a player was great doesn’t mean he’ll be a good coach.

From the list being mentioned Matt Ballin perhaps , although he seems pretty entrenched in the Broncos system so he possibly knows he’s “ next up “ there and wouldn’t move as a result.

Yesterdays Tele has Spoony, Des and O'Brien as the 3 coaches under pressure of the sack.

Willie Peters has been endorsed by JWH & M Pearce after being coached by him.

What are people's thoughts on Michael Monaghan? I believe he's been an assistant coach for some years at various clubs now. Currently with Des at the Titans I understand.

NB: I'm not actually advocating for him to get the job, just curious as to what people's thoughts are. I don't know if he's even ever expressed any interest in stepping up to a head coaching role. I was just wondering how he is regarded by players, pundits, commentators, the general rugby league community etc because you hardly ever hear his name mentioned.

And any case, even if he was killing it, he'd probably be considered too close to Des for Penn to ever consider him.

What if Dessie gets sacked from the titans

3.0 The trilogy/finale

Btw i am joking

Not sure Brad Arthur did a turd of a job at Parra.

Josh Hannay perhaps
😆 having watched the first movie and the first sequel in the Hasler franchise - spoiler alert - the dog bite the hand that fed it. twice.

Maybe the moral of this particular movie series is the triumph of hope over experience?

A little left field but what about Michael Cheika?? Apparently keen on giving rugby league a go (and coached Lebanon recently)..... with some half decent assistants he may be worth looking at (Apparently a good man manager).... thoughts??

If we are going to make a move on Seibold, we're going to have competition now. AOB, Payten, and Des, all look like near certainties to be sacked at the end of the season.

Apparently Blake Green is a favoured option at the Knights, and I doubt BA would like to replace a close mate of his in AOB.

I don't like the concept of just sacking the coach, when it isn't even guaranteed that you will get the replacement you want. I imagine the other two teams are talking to BA.

Gun to my head, and in preferential order, I'd say:

1. BA
2. Hannay
3. Holbrook

I don't know what suggests that any of these people are any better than Seibold, anyway.

One of the points I’ve banged on about ( and had many disagree ) but until the whole system is changed it really doesn’t matter ( much ) who you get.

Sack Seibold bring in Brad Arthur ( same same really )
Sack Seibold bring in Hannay ( young rookie coach , could be great , could be average )
Sack Seibold bring in Holbrook ( again same same ).

You STILL have a relatively low funded football department.

You STILL have most of the same players.

You STILL have the same facilities.

So riddle me this , where’s the magic bullet??

Many say it “ has to be a Manly man” , so do they want “ Des mark 3 “.

Or Ballin ( who was average in the lower grades and is currently only an assistant at the Broncos).

The ASB crew think I’m a Seibold devotee , that’s very far from the truth , I’d rather be called “ realistic “ and realistically there are many factors involved in our current malaise, the coach is just one part.
