You made a great point in another post about getting the game back to give those isolated something to look forward to. I was looking myself to use the term giving the people "bread and circuses" but not in the negative sense.
In a perfect world where many of the organisations involved weren't currently involved in either self preservation or self interest it would be a great opportunity to promote rugby league by throwing as much as possible of it to the masses by providing it free-to-air when it returns. No other sports, no clubs or pubs open to show it, a very bored and appreciative sport loving populace with many not inclined to start investing in luxuries such as pay TV. A whole generation of supporters could start from this tragic period. This is a way that Nine could be value adding but I'm sure the opportunity will be lost.

Agreed. The heading and the content was a pleasure to read - and much like what a lot of us have been saying for awhile, but it's channel 9, the channel where the head guy said on tv "We just bought the game" when signing the broadcast deal (before he went on to have a punch up with that James Packer guy).

There's more vested interests in that article than a manager of a clothing store.

And that's kinda still annoying.

I agree, they're just trying to soften up the NRL for the next TV rights deal.

But if Vlandys is Chairman why not look at Toovey- grass roots and elite football knowledge and is an accountant something the NRL clearly needs
Quite honestly the way the NRL has discintergrated under Greenbags is a disgrace.Herman Munster ,Mr Magoo ,Homer Simpson ,my 10 year old daughter any of them couldn’t have done a worse job
