Monas is a good halfback (not great), playing in a team with no specialist 5/8. He's on a hiding to nothing, especially with some fickle fans here. He's had some bad games, but he doesn't have an Anasta, Marshall, Lockyer, Smith, Barrett, or even average players like Hill or Dykes outside him to set up the backline or have another option. Manly's backline has never looked smooth this year, and it's not all his fault. His defence is very good and there were no probs with him when he was one of the leaders in Manly's wins earlier this year. Would you take Finch over Monas? hehe hehehehe hehehehehehehehe

i think it stems from the fact that while we bag his performance there are others that continually except ****ty performances.outside of us i hang around with a lot of hardened league supporters (both who have played or are just critics over a long period) and not one of them even consider him a solid 1st grader in the half or 5/8 role.i know barks its me and the boys down the pub that you cringe at but to be honest outside a couple of manly supporters he doesnt even rate a mention

Plus Monas was only having his 1st year in 1st grade full time. Today and tomorrow & next year..I'd have Monas over Finch anyday.

I wouldn't be comparing Finch to Monas as I think both are in the same class. I cant see many raving about Finch form.

But we all know that some were bagging Monas when he was playing well for the first 10 weeks, so trying to get any objective sense out of them when he's struggling is near impossible.

Finch can barely manage steering a side choc full of representative players. He was and always will be reliant on an outstanding 5/8th outside him.

If he can't get the Roosters into the finals then he ain't got buckleys chance of getting Manly within 1 game (as it stands) of making the finals.

FFS, Anyone that would want Finch over Monaghan should be put out to pasture.
