Myles - what's going on?

All that time at the Titans would have helped as well. Myles is probably very familiar with the dry weather up there (compared to the damp track of Brookvale) and knows the proper way to play up north. He is a true Queenslander and it was pretty much a 'home' game for him.

Myles definitely put self preservation to the side last night, Great game by him, let's hope it continues.
Seriously though, he seemed to be leading with his head to to injure Cowboy players.

We need some mongrel in the team, so I'm happy with that. Each team has some gritty, dirty grubs. Beau Scott, Cameron Smith, JWH, Sam Burgess, Sam Thaiday etc etc etc.

The one's that don't get pushed around (see North Sydney Bears throughout their years).

Good on him. If he can keep that up every game, I'll be a happy camper.

Absolutely and I couldn't be happier. Said to my missus last night that Myles was playing like a lunatic, and I wasn't at all perturbed when it cost us a couple of penalties. The Cows forwards were definitely looking out for him and Jake, which caused them to make some errors.

Your right mate, that North Sydney Bear team of 1921/22 was awesome

Yeah, I loved it. I don't care if he leads with his melon...it can't get put out of shape anymore anyway. He played great, seriously

He played well, that's true. I'd put it down to a combination of embarrassment at last week, the SOO coach in the stands, and the quality of the opposition middle third.

He was a pedestrian last week we all agreed, and was probably told so by Bozo the head of player payments.

The guy who picks the team for his 50K a match bonus was also in the stands looking to see if he had woken up rom his 2016 nap.

And..he wasn't running at Scott or Lomo - or any other top tier middle 3rd player. On paper (ironically) he was the top tier middle third player. And yes I get you can only play what is in front of you; but when that's not quality its a bit easier ?

Lets say thanks to Mr Plod for his first real hit ups in Manly colours, and see what of the combination above we can remove next week.

It's got nothing to do with Origin, and everything to do with pride.
He knows he has been poor, but he is also at the end of his career.
ie slower, less dominant, slower, less effective, slower

Give him credit, he used his body like a hammer to BANG everything that looked like a Cowboy....Good on him-he has my respect!

Soooooo, let's get this straight.....
Myles has his best game ever in our colours last night, but instead of giving credit where it is due, we now have posters now questioning his motives for having a great game.

FMD.

Can we not just enjoy the fantastic win ?

Lets get this really straight: Myles is a rep player on decent dough and a professional footballer - he has been incredibly average since he joined the club, to put it mildly - so my post is asking why that would be the case and suggesting that a motivating factor may have been the SOO coach in the stands, which if true isn't good enough. Manly pay Myles wages and as such he is expected to put in, like he did last night every game. Oh and one thing he could look at too: quit spinning when he hits the line. The great benchmark: BK never did.

Are you serious, he was aggressive and dominant all night. I'm rejoicing because it shows CLEARLY that he has something left in the tank, and he can be a real weapon (particularly defensively) this year. Enjoy the spectacle of a much maligned sporting identity closing the mouths of those who have never played professional contact sport ( me included). Hats off, he's one hard **** when he's switched on. Hence why he's been picked and performed for QLD for 30 odd games. As a club, if we get 10 or more games like that this season then we're in business. He did more than what was needed last night, enjoy it.
