Most underwhelming Manly EVER

So these last 4 games. We've score first in 3 of them , been behind by a small margin at halftime in all and then capitulated in each 2nd half. That indicates that our conditioning has failed and our inability to score points comes on the back of getting behind in the contest of field position and possession. The blame for that lays squarely on the strength and condition department and how the coaching department has gone about that program. It's clear we aren't fit enough to compete at the seasons end. A complete failure of how the training has been planned.
While I agree with this too, we also happen to have a fairly slow, aging and immobile forward pack. Our play the balls are slow, stale hitups, etc. If they get fatigued, it is inevitable that we fall apart. Need a youth injection and more variation as well

Hoppas turned into a rag doll.
He like most of the team, don't care anymore. If they cared, they'd do a lot better. They're just going through the motions.

Dropping the captain might change that. I'm worried that we'll get some cheap idiot like AOB for our next coach, so I'm not going for that yet. Seibold has a genuine reason to help Manly win, DCE doesn't anymore.

Captains should also be motivators. Do any of you think that DCE is a better motivator than Jake? Of course it was Barrett who made this decision.

I'm not making excuses but this is supposed to be our starting pack
8. Paseka
9. Croker
10. Aloiai
11. Olakau'atu
12. Burbo
13. Jurbo

14 Tevaga
15 Bullemore
16 TKO
17 Brown/Waddell
A lot different to what we've sent out lately

Croker was the issue, not the solution
TKO = Aloia
Jake is not an 80 minute 13 and gives us little these days. Jazz is a better 13.
Burbot is bench at best
Ola played 2/3 of year and we won the next two games after he was injured.
Brown was average or worse this year.

Paseka only definitive long term loss outside of Ola later in the season.

Our 1,6,7 were basically fit to play almost every game.

Plenty of teams in our boat or worse this year.
In reality outside of Ola, Paseka , Bull , Simpkin you could rotate the rest and it would make **** all difference / they are all bog average and until we change the type of forwards we recruit we will be bottom 4.

Agreed. Even in the dark days pre the Northern Eagles, at least they were having a dig.

I'm a season ticket holder and this is probably one of the worst years since 2018 that I've been disinterested in the Manly team. I only attended 3 homes games out of 9 and I'm seriously considering to stop altogether next season.
I am in the same boat. Have missed the last 4 games and wont be driving down the M1 to watch this **** again this season. If the dud is coaching again next season i wont be renewing.

Until we get an owner who doesn't treat the club as a plaything to put rainbow jerseys on to impress his LA "friends" we will not improve. Actually an owner living even in the same city as the club might be better but I would happily sell to a Sheikh who has some spare change after buying an EPL club

Of the current squad it's much quicker to think who you really want to keep rather than who you don't want to lose. For me that would be Paseka (perhaps flattered by not playing this year), Haumole, Simpkin (our only real dummy half - we could do with another), Bullemore, Koula and Hoppa (on the hope he bulks up a bit). Everybody else is at best lineball, meh or happy to see go. Even Turbo because I have almost lost as much confidence in him returning to the '21 model as he seem to have.

Sheikheagle? I think Penn is an east coast boy, so NYC friends, not LA, but same same.

We need a coach who doesn't talk fluff and is not akin to some new age marketing guru spruiking motivational books.

Manly were $1.62 when I looked today.

For the uninitiated that means a 62% probability of winning,
I couldn't understand that, Mr Zimmerman.

I'm not sure what other people see when they watch Manly play rugby league, or whether they watch other NRL games week to week (I admit I don't watch as many as I used to, because I don't particularly enjoy this newer version of the "product", and find it hard to stay invested in a competition where the team I support is completely irrelevant), but at this point of the season, Manly have to be one of the worst teams in the NRL. Every other team, with the possible exception of Newcastle, is showing something. But we, as Fatty caution used to say, have got nothing.

A month a go we were in with a chance of making the top eight. I couldn't see it actually happening, but we were a chance. We had something to play for. We'd f#cked around all year, but if we could string a few wins together, we could have at least played another finals game and the season would not have been a total loss. Instead, when it has really mattered, we have looked worse and worse every week.

How you apportion blame to a clusterf#ck like this is a matter of individual preference. Is it Cherry? Somebody or everybody named Trbojevic? Or is Super Coach Seibold solely to blame? Personally, I'm 70% Cherry, 10% Trbojevic and 20% Seibold. But in the end, all that really matters is that we are a terrible football team right now, and for us to stop being terrible, something has to change.

Heard the commentators say we are the only side that hasn’t over come a half time deficit this year, thought they also said this side having only scored 20 points in three weeks is the worst performance from a Manly side in over 50 years, yes we scored late so I don’t know how that changed it, we just keep kicking new depths and sadly I believe we haven’t hit the bottom…..

I went to the game today and it was our worst loss for a very long time. We’ve been beaten by bigger scores but the way we squandered every opportunity we were given with insipid attack, paired with some of the worst arm grabbing defence I’ve seen (looking at you Saab, DCE and Turbo), leaves me cold.

Saab should be arrested for impersonating a footballer. Tommy and DCE need to consider new professions. OK, Turbo tried hard in attack but was ineffective; his defence was a disgrace.
