Manly were $1.62 when I looked today.
For the uninitiated that means a 62% probability of winning,
I couldn't understand that, Mr Zimmerman.
I'm not sure what other people see when they watch Manly play rugby league, or whether they watch other NRL games week to week (I admit I don't watch as many as I used to, because I don't particularly enjoy this newer version of the "product", and find it hard to stay invested in a competition where the team I support is completely irrelevant), but at this point of the season, Manly have to be one of the worst teams in the NRL. Every other team, with the possible exception of Newcastle, is showing
something. But we, as Fatty caution used to say, have got nothing.
A month a go we were in with a chance of making the top eight. I couldn't see it actually happening, but we were a chance. We had something to play for. We'd f#cked around all year, but if we could string a few wins together, we could have at least played another finals game and the season would not have been a total loss. Instead, when it has really mattered, we have looked worse and worse every week.
How you apportion blame to a clusterf#ck like this is a matter of individual preference. Is it Cherry? Somebody or everybody named Trbojevic? Or is Super Coach Seibold solely to blame? Personally, I'm 70% Cherry, 10% Trbojevic and 20% Seibold. But in the end, all that really matters is that we are a terrible football team right now, and for us to stop being terrible, something has to change.
