Most important - "Tom T" or "Snake"

Turbo really hasn’t done much yet to warrant any comparison with Snake, especially at club level. We can only guess at the impact he might have on the current team really.

100% agree.

Snake plays 2008 and we win the comp.
Snake injured in 09 and 10. We go nowhere.
Snake playing again in 2011 and we win the comp.

That said, Manly had a better team than today, however it shows the influence Snake had on us winning or losing

Tom T is not fit to tie Snake’s bootlaces. A two time premiership winner and sixth on the all time leading try scorers list.

That is the whole point of my post, if i felt the same as the broader community there would be no post to start with.

I wouldn't go out of my way to watch Tom play, but i would for the likes of a in his prime B.Stewart, B.Slater, Paps, Tedesco, Hayne, Barba,Ponga etc.

Comparing the highlights reel of Brett to Turbo in the first 4-5yrs or so says it all.(Yes injuries,strength of the squad and coaching instability has played it's part but Tom should still shine more often than he does)

Now once Brett lost his speed it was more about admiring his leadership and defensive organization qualities(while playing on one leg) because i never rated his passing game all that much(although his passing was effective on the left side with some nice touches) and the lack of variety in his running lines sort of bored me to death.

Tom is a very good player who has great games sometimes, still has too many putting his head down moments.(He is improving though in this regard) His footwork is not going to create a hole out of nothing, nor is his turn of speed that is for sure(his speed is more top end or off some fast momentum) and his passing is adequate(like most Fullbacks these days) but nothing spectacular.

Manly are paying big dollars with not much to show for it, now if i was saying this in hindsight i would be a fool "obviously" but I've had this opinion since day dot here and at the moment Tom's ROI is not looking good so far and backing up my original comments years ago.

Still young and Tedesco started to flourish in his mid 20's so now might actually be the time to invest in Tom.

I think Tom's attacking strength is his ability to break the line with strength/awkwardness to tackle. He's one of those rangy, strong, reasonably quick players that are just hard to get down. As much as I hate the comparison, kinda like Inglis. Doesn't have the footwork of a Teddy or the speed off the mark of Papy. He's probably most like Mitchell as far as his peer group goes, just a higher involvement rate and effort

Even other team "s supporters rate Tom and at his best one of the most influential players in the game . Good judges previously said that Snake had all the attributes to be a Manly Great , similar good judges in recent times had the same prediction with Tom , Just has to be on the footy field for Manly on a regular basis to prove that expectation right . .

And could throw a better pass, including tweeners, over the top, up off the ground
timing better in link play, better down low when its bouncing (quicker reflexes)
could snatch the bomb out of your arms when u trying to catch it,
awareness in defense, discipline to chase the opportunities, ie loved to back up
could chase down a rampaging Inglis (last line of defense) and grass him
could inspire team mates and the whole of MW district
but above all LOVED TO SCORE TRIES with a passion as strong as Bozo.

Agree, but the above also makes him very limited and not all that exciting to watch.

Mitchell has better footwork though.

You forgot 2007 - king hit in GF by Storm and Qld thug Michael Crocker after half time with Manly trailing 10-4 but well in the match. It was game over from that point Storm 34 vs Manly 8
