Monday Buzz: Suburban ground boost for NRL fans

I’m not from the northern beaches but it seems to me that federally the members from the area have done very little in a long time for the local community and infrastructure. Apparently due to it been seen as a sure thing for the liberals. Perhaps a change would be good for the area, I know other independents have been able to get a lot done for their local areas when in power. There’s is of course other larger national issues at play, but generally one seat won’t affect that too much and you’d think the local member would represent the views of the local community in order to be re-elected anyway.

This isn’t a political forum though, don’t know why I felt the need to chime in. Maybe because I want brookvale to get some funding and don’t trust the promises I’ve heard before.

An Independent's voice will only be heard if the Government is in power by a slim majority. If not then an Independent - or a block of independents - has no power.

What about that federal member for the northern part of official Sea Eagles territory in the seat of Mackellar , has he been lobbied much for trying to source or obtain government funding for Brookie upgrades in recent times . Mackellar probably has more Sea Eagles supporter based suburbs then Warringah from what i have noticed . I live around two of the most marginal Queensland federal seats in Australia and the amount and level of sports funded pork barreling over the years has been quite profound in relation to the population proportion here . Good luck to those sporting bodies that have received the very significant sporting and facility grants but in quite a few instances hardly justified on the entitlement measure . Politics or political considerations shouldn't really play a role or be a general factor in apportioning sporting or facilities outlays but just like Brookie "s i situation in recent times , it no doubt is .

March 8 is still before the State election. In a sadistic way I'd like to see the Labor government elected in NSW. It would be disastrous for the State but it would keep us amused as they backtracked on their election promises, such as resurrecting Alliance Stadium and supporting suburban grounds such as Brookie.
I noticed one report that suggested the outcome for the upcoming N S W state election could be a hung parliament . Seems like nothing is immune from sexist comments .

A hung parliament in NSW? Now, wouldn't that be a circus?
The only upside would be that Allianz Stadium would remain in a political limbo and Easts would be without their home ground for many years.

I’ve noticed Zali Steggall has her office directly opposite the main entrance to Brookie. Maybe she will take over the sausage selling stand on game days.
