Metcalfe- A forgotten man

He is a halfback, not a fullback. There is no space for him atm.
But there is for The Shoe. That's who should be given a chance, along with Tenterfield who could put some fire into the forwards.

Was playing Fullback last year and also in the 9s and seemed to do pretty well. There is talk that he can't tackle but again that's debatable. He couldn't do any worse than Elliott at the moment. At least he offers speed and a passing game. He might get caught out position a few times but again isn't Elliott out of position when defending grubber kicks EVERY time.

Also played full back in the two trial games this year, but was underwhelming. Seemed a little small and let a soft try in defending goal line but is no worse defending than Elliot ATM.

His main asset is his speed. Very fast, especially over 40m. Did really well in the SG Ball grade using his speed, made a crazy number of clean breaks.

Has not really gotten any bigger but is agile and quick on his feet. To be honest, he has more raw talent than Cust but hasn't had enough time on the field, as the year before did his ACL from memory and put him out for a year.

Lots of talent, but in same boat as Hoppa, injuries have kept him back. Would still like to see what he could do in full year of NSW cup

I have heard he needs to improve his defence, not sure if it’s similar to where Cust was at last season with his defence.

Cust has shown you can improve your defence so hopefully Metcalf has.

Could be some much needed extra spark off the bench, hoping he gets an opportunity to show case his game.

You may have the winner young man! Doesn't appear we can buy a proper 7 and Schuster appears to be pencilled-in as a lock or centre.

That could work but our coach is risk-adverse.
I fear if Metcalf was picked at fullback the opposition would terrorise him with high kicks. Fullback is such a specialised position these days.
