It would have to be done by June 30th if it were to happen.I don't see any benefit to Manly though.

Monaghan has very good utility value.
He would be the first player I would pick on the bench.

The season financially starts in October, so by now we would have paid 2/3 or so of his contract - the financial savings would only benefit us if we were over the cap as we cant realisticly purchase more players with the last 80K or so. Hence on that alone there is no way i'd release him.

On field he has obvious value as a decent player in 3 key positions and is in a purple patch. So to let him go would be a poor move in that case as well.
