Matt Ballin - bring him back

This bloke was a Manly champion in their dominant recent period....maybe even the glue in a side that was absolute Championship quality....
Though softly spoken is a great motivator and he is a fitness guru, with as good attitude as any youngster could ever want to emulate and pride there game on....especially off field.
Really hope Manly get him back among the squad, as he is a Manly player 100% and would be ideal on the fitness staff and perfect for the youngsters looking to maximise their potential and focus on being the best they can....its important to maintain proven Manly culture and Ballin is a proven Winner....

As much as Matty would be a wonderful asset to have 'among the squad' and yes he's Manly through and through, I can't see him returning here anytime soon having only just moved his young family to Brisbane.

(Similarly it would be fantastic to have ex-Manly legends Kite and Matai still involved, but that aint going to happen, unfortunately.)

He's a great club man but I don't think you can categorically say he'd be useful on the fitness staff just because he's a PT.

I'd love to see Donny Singe brought back into the fold as our Head of Physical Performance. He'd be interested, as well. Presently on duty with the Kiwi's. Bring some Manly back into Manly 🙂

I wouldn't put that on his resume if he wants another job in rugby league.

Welcome Matt back

FORMER champion Sea Eagles hooker Matt Ballin would like to get back involved with the club that he gave his heart and soul to for 11 seasons.

He and his family recently relocated to Brisbane but could be returning home to the northern beaches.

“I’d like to come back and I’d like to be involved with the club somehow again,” Ballin told Blindside.

“We miss the beaches pretty badly and it would nice to be back.”

Ballin spent two injuryplagued seasons with the Tigers after leaving the Sea Eagles.

And it was when Ballin was farewelled at Lottoland as a retiring player prior to the game with the Panthers this year it hit home just what Manly meant to him.

“When I did a lap around the oval with my family I realised how special it was,” Ballin said.

On Thursday Ballin and his former skipper Jamie Lyon were both awarded life membership of the Manly district football club.

“It was really nice to have that acknowledgment, it was awesome,” Ballin said. “I flew down and wouldn’t have missed it.”

Lets hope the club can find a job for him, another trainer perhaps..:clap::party:

Matty is such a wholesome role model to inspire young players.

Manly shouldn't miss this opportunity :wait:

Plus Gorman's Fan Engagement would have the most approachable and genuine person who Fans already love

I met Matty B at the Football club AGM the other night and his passion for our great club shines through. What an asset he would be to add to our coaching staff and his calmness and dedication to teach our younger players about the culture of our club and what it takes and means to be successful here.

After talking to Matty B and Brent Kite when he was inducted as a life member, they both alluded to the camaraderie of the team that Des built and Tooves carried on and how that bond helped them overcome adversity and win games and premierships, you see signs that Barrett is building something similar now and it's being led by the Turbos and a host of young talented players.

As a club, we may not have a lot of money, or an A grade ground, what we do possess is a winning culture and guys like Matty B are a big reason for that!

If we have 17 players each week that play with the commitment that Matty B showed as players we will always be a competitive team. I hope the club is smart enough to get him involved if he returns to the beaches.
