Well there you go, must have been my hearing. All those other poor people in the 50's must have been afflicted as well or didn't sing it fast enough. Or maybe old Norths supporters, there were plenty of them around at the time. Perhaps that's how Seagles became Beagles. 😉
 
The song sounds like sea gulls to me. The world wasn't full of people whining about everything. Watch games from the 1970s and no one is blowing up about terrible play the balls and not every dropped ball is a knock on. Let alone scrum penalties.

10cc had a hit in the 70s that was a misheard quote from a radio where the announcer said; "Life is a mystery". The song writers, Eric Stewart and Lol Creme heard it as "Life is a Minestrone", and it was a hit.

I've always heard our team song (not Eagle Rock) as "Up the mighty SeaEagles" just sung quickly. But life is a mystery.
