'They'll be happy to see me': Hasler in good spirits for Brookvale return

Titans coach Des Hasler has used his trademark humour to express his excitement of returning to Brookvale Oval for Sunday's clash against the Sea Eagles.

Cheekily suggesting the passionate faithful to be eager to see the former Manly legend return to the place he spent over two decades at as a player and coach, the trip will be his first visit to the iconic Northern Beaches venue since joining the Titans.

"They'll be happy to see me... so it'll be really good," Hasler joked.

"It's all part of the theatre."
But the journey south is no holiday for Hasler and his side who are aiming for four straight wins to keep their finals bid alive, eyeing off clipping the wings of the home side which has become a regular for the Titans in recent times, having won six of their last eight appearances to Brookie.

"I know the place pretty well. It's always a formidable ground to play at. That's the way it's been built over the decades," he said.

"It'll be a really good test actually and our players are genuinely excited. It'll be a really good game of footy.

"Both sides are playing good footy at the moment so it's a dry track, I think you'll see some open footy."
Expecting the Sea Eagles to be bolstered by the return of Origin duo Daly Cherry-Evans and Jake Trbojevic to complete a "top four" roster that includes experience and speed to burn, Hasler has remained tight-lipped on his finals aspirations, instead knowing continued good performances will be rewarded.

"I'm going to give a boring routine cliche answer here, but [finals] take care of itself if you keep winning," Hasler said.

"It's so congested [on the ladder] really, so you never say never."

Got to say, living on the GC, I like to feel a Manly connection with Foz and Des at the Titans. I respect both of them.
In saying that I sincerely hope we smash them.😂
Go Manly!
Yeah same here, I support them against everyone but not this time. What a picture perfect day today was on the GC.

Option #2, but with Bent on the bench.

So it’s the Bagles versus the Mitans tomorrow

We need our Tiger recruits Talau, Brooks. Aioli, Simpkin and even Sharon from the sidelines putting in their best efforts to get the Bagles home.

Otherwise Desmond, Foz, Monners, Kelly, the Randall family and Granpa Arko will be mighty proud on their trip home.

Go Manly!

(Should be a pretty easy win. Everyone knows Des is a dinosaur who can't coach anymore!)

Restricting Foz "s options and containing Fifita [ who generally seems to cause the Manly defence some problems ] will no doubt help Manly "s cause . Not to say that they do not have other players who occasionally seem to go well with a bit of ad lib footy
Titans would be expected to offer a bit more resistance then the Knights but ideally the Manly attack will be able to click into gear again relatively well .
Hopefully to stay on a roll with a good measured game and get the job done

Big test for our right edge defence today. Campbell has been killing it at 5/8. He doesn't use Fifita a lot but is a huge run threat and is excellent at finding the cut out ball to AKP who is the leading try scorer in the comp this year.

Easier said than done but Garrick needs to not get sucked in by the Fifita threat. If Fifi gets one on one with Chez too often the whole edge are gonna have all sorts of problems.

Whoever our right edge backrower is (Lawton?) they will need a big defensive performance to ease some of the pressure on Chez, Garrick and Saab.
