Game Day: Manly V Storm [Round 12, 2024]

I was really proud of that effort last week. It was looking really troubling early on and we won the grind but just ran out of time.

This game hinges a lot on young Hopoate and how he goes. Koula is a huge out for us so I hope that Hopoate has an electric game.

Vaega was strong last week. Some real good carries. He is getting better.

Talau was impressive last week as well.

With Saab back we might bag an extra couple of tries out there tonight.

And good to have Brown on the bench.

So there really is a lot to like about this squad. If Hopoate remains composed and has a good game I reckon we should outscore Melbourne tonight.

A win here keeps us in touch with the 8 at least. No more injuries pls

Our biggest probelm is our bench, not one of our bench players would make their 17.

Storm benchie Alec MacDonald is exactly the sort of player Manly needs. Wonder where you find a player like that?

But yeah, looking at our squad, DCE and Brooks really want to use their combined mammoth wealth of experience and get our attack swinging sharply. And Garrick 122 games now. He is a potential game breaker and playing strongly. Perfect opportunity for him to stand up tonight.

Paseka and Aloiai need to lead the way. And we want Olakau'atu picking up some more speed as he catches that ball and charges forward. He could go straight through.

Id take any of them except Nelson, he is past it. Loiero and Anderson would also walk into our 17.

I actually think if DCE and Garrick were out it would make no difference to our winning prospects. Could even improve our hopes.

I think if DCE and Garrick were both out also we would lose by around 30 points or more. I think we can match it with them in the middle like we showed last week. Saab back boosts our attack and I am excited to see Hopoate getting a chance to shine on the big stage. We need some pace at the back and he is very quick apparently. We will see how good he is with his passing and defensive reads. Hope he is a superstar and owns the number 1 spot from game one.

yep, our bench is really light on. Only Brown to add a bit of impact, if he does 3 big hit-ups and skittles a few he could really lift our forwards to put in a big one.

The team should consider free entry for NZ passport holders, promote it as a thank you for what they did during covid. A full season of sellouts would really help Big Tony sell public or private investors on the viability of a profitable upgrade to Brookie.

We didnt sell out the Raiders game, 6pm Friday and pouring with rain.
Amazed we got 10,000 in there with those circumstances.

We could come close to a sell out Warriors game even at 6pm, just depends if we are still in contention for a semi spot.
