I might be imagining it, but did I detect some signs of… coaching over the last two weeks? Seems like we might have stopped trying to score from every play of every set and have instead concentrated on trying to win the middle first - like we're willing to work teams over in the early stages of the game and reap the rewards as the game goes on.

It's a different mindset to trying to blow teams away early, thereby leaving them plenty of time and plenty of energy to run over the top of us as the game goes on.

Mind you, we're still not able to stay switched on for the full 80 minutes, but I think that's more on the players than the coaches. It also doesn't help that DCE is the king of the self-inflicted momentum swing. I'm not sure I've ever yelled at any player through a TV screen as much as I've yelled at Cherry over the last few weeks.

But yeah, it was against a very poor Tigers side and a very poor Souths side, so who really knows. Still, it's the first time we've won back to back for quite a while.

Side note: Did I hear the commentators say that Manly is the number one side for metres made in the NRL? And that we've also kept an opponent scoreless at the half more than any other team? If that's true, does that put our ability to sh@t the bed into the legendary category?

And more fancier teams like Roosters sharks are behind us.

The last 2 weeks have been needed wins not convincing at all but every win is taking us further away from the spoon battle.

Don't think we will get the spoon but after the bye next week we go

Storm away
Bulldogs away
Roosters home
Raiders away
Tigers away
Dolphins home
Dragons away
Warriors home

Not any easy finish to the year we could slip into the lower half of the 8 very even competition from 5-12th positions.

Or very easily miss the 8 with our run home. Anything from here is a bonus
I think we’ll do quite well to win more than 1 of our next 4, so we need to go all out in those final 4 games of the season which I think are a little more winnable. Unfortunately I do see us falling short, but at least we’ve made things look more respectable in the last 2 weeks. Hope I’m proven wrong and we get some big wins against good sides in the run home 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely...how dare he accuse lodge of something the ref or bunker didn't even look at. Lodge actually slid down his leg which is not a hip drop.
He needs to be disciplined by Fox for his unmistakable bias. He's a dickhead.
Brandon Smith posted this which was nice but I agree, commentary needs to be careful because their view on things often decides the narrative

If they do charge Lodge we should definitely fight it. Was not a hip drop tackle of the ones you regularly see. Just because Wayne is now losing his gloss in the game, doesn't give him the right to be a quasi judiciary member.

Mate we seem to play so much better against strong teams & play so piss weak against lesser teams. Not sure why. I’m confident we will do well for the rest of the year. It’s a pity that we’re without Paseka, Aloiai, Olakau’atu, Brown……everyone bitching about sides with injuries yet we have 4 of our best forwards sidelined!! If Lodge is suspended winning will be tough but Sipley has stepped up & hopefully the forwards left can hold their own. Not easy but possible.

Missed Ola's interview before the game, any hint on when he's coming back.
