From the Manly Sea Eagles website, here is the ' Rd 27 Sea Eagles Injury Report' released on Monday, 02 September 2024:

Tom Trbojevic suffered a Grade 3 AC shoulder injury against the Bulldogs (Rd 26). He will miss this Sunday's sold out final round match against Cronulla at 4 Pines Park, but will back for week one of the finals.

Scans confirmed Jason Saab suffered a high ankle sprain injury against the Bulldogs. He will miss the Sharks game and be assessed week to week regarding his recovery and fitness.

Aaron Schoupp remains in a sling after undergoing successful shoulder reconstructive surgery and is planning to commence running this week.

Jake Arthur suffered a stress fracture in his left foot and underwent successful surgery to stabilise this. Jake has progressed out of his boot and has commenced running on an alter g treadmill.

From the 'NRL Casualty Ward - All the Latest Injury News, Updates & Returns Details' web page, Here is the Latest NRL Injured or Unavailable Update:

* * * (Updated: Tuesday, 03 September 2024) * * *

The Sea Eagles will be without Tom Trbojevic and Jason Saab for the final round of the regular season.

Trbojevic left the field in the 64th minute with a head cut and nursing his shoulder after he landed awkwardly while making a last-ditch tackle.

The fullback went for scans on Saturday morning and has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 AC shoulder injury. He will miss the Sharks game at a sold out 4 Pines Park but will return for the opening week of the finals.

The news is not as positive for Saab, with the winger suffering a high-ankle sprain. He will be assessed on a week-to-week basis.

Manly Sea Eagles
  • Tom Trbojevic (Shoulder, Finals)
  • Jason Saab (Ankle, TBC)
  • Corey Waddell (Suspended, Finals - Week 1)
  • Aaron Schoupp (Shoulder, 2025)
  • Jake Arthur (Foot, 2025)

Also, from the NRL Casualty Ward, Manly hub page, there are slight variations to the information regarding the unavailable or injured players and their return periods:
  • Jason Saab (Ankle, TBC)
  • Jake Arthur (Foot, Next Season)
  • Tom Trbojevic (Shoulder, Finals)
  • Corey Waddell (Suspended, Finals)

Will be a good game for the big boys again, Sharks may rest a few with 3rd or 4TH position the best they can do.

Blake Brailey is the danger if they get rolling up the middle.

So who comes in for Tom and Saab?

Tolu to Fullback
Burbo to centre or say Faulo or Jaxon Paulo to wing?

I'd be sticking Lehi to fullback. This kid is something else. Safe under the high ball , fast , elusive and can tackle too.
Yeah, I’d put Lehi at FB too until Tom returns.

If last nights injury to Saab was anything to go by, I’d say Lehi will be the right wing moving forward once Tom returns.

Talau and Koula on the left edge from here on will give them time to build on that existing combo from earlier on in the year.

Do we rest players …and possibly lose but be fresh for first game of the semis and play away?
OR
Do we have a punt and play our best side.. risk injuries .. but have a chance of a home final at Brookie?

Umm bet with you head not over it !!

Just sayin’

The best thing about next Sunday verse sharks
We control our own destiny.

If we want a home final and play week 1 of the finals at home it’s there for the taking
We will have no one else to blame if we miss out in it.

We should be going 100% full out for a home semi.

Home semi any given day of the week
Hear DCE interview with hoops last night on fox the boys want the home semi too.
It’s a massive leg up for us if we get it.

We have too much to play for.

If this was down at shark park would be a completely different story.

Won’t be easy game that’s for sure but the carrot of a home semi in front of our home fans is enough motivation I think to see us win.

They won’t want to travel to QLD and we owe the sharks they have win the last few at brookvale time to get one back on them.

We have been up and down all year
But another Big pressure win can turn our end of season momentum around
This time of the year the teams that can handle the pressure best will have the best shot at winning the premiership

Pressure is a Privilege at Manly and it comes to those who Earn it

Take it away Winston ..

I personally want Lehi at fullback and Humphreys on the bench, but unfortunately I think this is the team we end up with:

1. Koula
2. Faulalo
3. Talau
4. Garrick
5. Hopoate
6. Brooks
7. DCE
8. Paseka
9. Croker
10. Lodge
11. Olakau'atu
12. Lawton
13. Jake
14. Ben Trbojevic (backs cover you would think)
15. Josh Aloiai
16. Ethan Bullemor
17. Nathan Brown

At some stage, we will let ourselves down and sh!t the bed. With this team, that is a given. Until then, let’s have as much fun as we can.
The most fun is to win next week and have a home semi final. I vote for that.
