I like the change but after thinking about it overnight, what do we like about Jake moving to prop? I know that a positive is that he is no longer playing lock, and Jazz will arguably do a better job, but do we even want him as prop? When we talk about props we want, we talk about aggressive, fast, mobile, young and hungry - Jake is none of these. Why do we think he will perform well at 8?
He’s still one of if not our best defenders. And after all defence is 50% of the game and probably the 50% we’re most lacking in.

Based on what?? All the pics of training shows both Saab and TT2 training??
who is the player at right in this pic?

Zaidas Muagututia. The young hooker we signed from the dogs last year. Starting in NSW cup again this week. Can’t be too far off playing first grade I’d say.
Ah, interesting.
More good signs. Seibold (occasionally derided Manly coach) has shown a propensity for fast tracking talent (eg Lehi) and from what others have said Zaidas may well have some decent talent.

Jake back to where it all started for him , did not think the change was definitely going to happen now but timely that it has .
Still not totally sold on Jazz "s lateral defence in more open spaces but good direct runner to get a bit more advantage in the go forward department .
Can only conclude that if Simpkin needs a bit of a rest that only Jazz can put in a bit of time at 9 but no doubt there has been some consideration for this .
Really good if Simpkin can continue on with his good showing last game , will be a real positive for the side if he can .
Quite gritty match last time they played in Perth , this one and depending on the conditions could be a lot more open .
Still have uneasy recollections from that late season Brookie game in 24 when the Sharks gave Manly a bit of a touch up .
Hopefully the side can be much more on their game and particularly defensively to reverse that unhelpful loss

I see Zaidas as a younger Jazz. He can play 9 but I don't really think it's his calling. Lock might be his spot, but one to keep an eye on his progress. I wouldn't be surprised to see him given a run everywhere in the forwards.

Young? Why young? Mitch Barnett aint young! Raiders Papalii and Tapine aren't kids...
All those players are still mobile and still performing at high standards
Age does not define or greatly decline all players
Not every player can play till their late 30's years age like DCE for example

I would like to know how many matches Al and Tent have missed since joining Manly.
Because of their appaling injury records I would be tempted to try to move them on.

Just looked at TAB odds we are $1.70 Sharks $2.15. Surely we are even money at best with home ground advantage, what am I missing here?

I can't believe we are favourites either. Can only assume bookies think the home ground advantage is key ? Do they know Sharks have beaten us the last 3 times they have travelled to Brookie ? On top of that we've only beaten them once in the last 6 meetings.
