"With Turbo loving that left side, that's their go-to with [Kieran] Foran, [Josh] Schuster and Turbo working together," Johns began in Wide World of Sports' Freddy and The Eighth.

"I thought on that side of the field [last week against the Titans] that Sydney's Josh Morris looked a little bit vulnerable.

"That's where that [Titans line] break was made late in the last play of the game really. So I think there's a real target on that side for Manly to attack.

"I think they're in for a big night - just that passage between Sam Walker and Josh Morris, I think there'll be a lot of traffic."

Journos don't know what the "edge" is. Does anybody??

This article uses the term "edge" to mean the wingers and centres. Coaches tend to refer to backrowers and their neighbouring halves as the "edge defence".

Is the edge anything that ain't the middle? I prefer to think it is the area next to the middle, and the wingers are beyond the edge.
Was it Johnny Gibbs when he commentated that said " the winger is treating the sideline like a precipice"?
Now that's on the edge!

Teddy v Turbo: Robinson’s take on battle between game's best (mainly praise of Tedesco)

We got ...

Tommy Turbo - likely Dally M winner, NSW and Australian player
Jason Saab - fastest player in the game
Foz - Former NZ captain and premiership winner
DCE - Current QLD captain, Kangaroo, and premiership winner
Marty Tapau - NZ and Samoa international
Jakey - NSW player
Dylan f***ing Walker - former Dally M centre of the year and NSW and Australian rep

We got this

Despite all their injuries I think the Easts team selected still has more representative players than us.

Still 8 hours to bloody wait

My tip for tonight, Olakau’atu to have a massive game, he will be really primed up after last week and hopefully gets some nice early ball

Adam Keighran is the key to the game for me, he will have Foran, Schuster and Tom bearing down on him all night, he has done a good job out of position and if he makes the right decisions tonight we will find it tough, but if he gets a couple wrong Tom will skin him

Dylan Walker was the only one who had a blinder last week. Surprisingly, he is actually a very important big game player for us. He seems to have great games when we get big wins (eg. vs storm, raiders, roosters over the years)

I started to read this opinion piece and quickly released how much crap it was:

Winning feeling: Eels, Roosters have history on their side

AuthorMartin LenehanNRL.com Senior JournalistTimestampFri 17 Sep 2021, 06:01 AM

The Eels and Roosters may be massive underdogs heading into this weekend's semi-finals but they have one golden commodity in their favour and that's momentum.

Now, if "momentum" is defined as winning last start then every year these two knockout finals are a team coming off a win V a team coming off a loss. It's the way the final system works, every bloody year!
What a stupid story.

The....guitarist for U2?

I'd like to see us kick-off 1st tonight. Get up in their faces, our forwards smash the sh*t out of them and let them know we mean business. Start again like last week and we'll be dead birds. Get the momentum and early field position. Kick chase will be vital and DON'T let Teddy start pinballing.

Wish Manase could play. I wonder what he feels knowing we've basically played with a lower salary cap than everyone else carrying him?

If Olakau’atu turns up in the right frame of mind tonight and starts hitting the ball at pace rather than standing flat footed we will do well. I rate this boy very highly and when he is on he is a beast. Go Big Olakau’atu - fire up son!

I think Joey is off the mark lately. Lots of bleeding obvious statements, and no depth.

.. and don't forget to twist their ears, pull their noses and get a good squirrell grip .....a Manly 1st grade coach once said in a pre-game ... "I would never tell a player to rip an opponents balls off, but if it were to happen I have a hammer and nail in my kit, and there is a space on the wall over there .. "

We have these chooks covered all over the park our spine is much better same as our pack. Their bench is very weak im tipping us 13+ and for souths to be very nervous. Go Manly #MIGOTY! Make it happen Des im not ready to see Manly's last game tonight!
Fire up ****s! ! !
