Interesting stats posted on the NRL website this morning.

In all games in 2021, the fastest speeds of our back 5 have been:

Jason Saab - 38 km/h
Tom Trbojevic - 35.9 km/h
Reuben Garrick - 35.2 km/h
Brad Parker - 32.5 km/h
Morgan Harper - 31.6 km/h

And for tonight's opponents.....

Adam Keighran - 33.8 km/h
James Tedesco - 33.7 km/h
Daniel Tupou - 33.3 km/h
Josh Morris - 32.9 km/h
Matt Ikuvalu - 32.1 km/h

Massive game for our centres and back rowers, they'll look to attack us on the edges, Crighton will be dangerous and Morris desperate to not be hanging up the boots yet. Shoo and Olakatua need to be covering well and Harper needs to be much better than last week. Defence will win this game, I don't think they can shut down our attack like Storm did.

Teddy will also be trying to uptage Tom so he's a huge threat.

The Chicken and The Eagle

Game day...
Let's feast!

The thing is last weeks game could be a godsend....we played as poorly as possible against red hot opposition...and for those thinking Roosters will try copyright the Storm game plan - that's 100% correct, but here's the catch - It's like a pig putting on lipstick and pretending to be Angelina Jolie....the Roosters quality is WAY off the Storm....in actual fact I will go as far as to say the Only thing that can beat Manly tonight is Manly....if the Attitude and will to win is switched on we play Souths next week and to call it out, if we can't take out this depleted and crippled City team we don't deserve to go further.

Hope Marty is pumped for a big one, he will go a long way to deciding he outcome. If it's Marty that drops the ball in the play the ball 10m out from either line or that runs half heartedly onto the ball and plays for penalties it will make life tough for everyone in our team. If it's Marty that receives the ball in motion at the advantage line looking to bend the defence rather than offload the team will feed from him. Then Paseka comes on!

Player for player we are evenly matched across the park.
Except for the halves.
Our halves to take control and win this big game for us.
Come on Foz and Cherry .
Forwards turn up this week and lay a platform for our halves and we got this.
GO MANLY.
The bench is also completely lopsided imo. The key is dominating JWH imo. We do that and it’s all over!

All of the 6 thousand available tickets sold for the match so should be a good atmosphere , a couple of thousand outside the district spectators also expected so maybe a fair sprinkling of Manly supporters among that group as well . Still think Manly "s defence will be the key , contain or restrict the Roosters scoring and should have the attack with a reasonable share of possession to go on with it but would also still anticipate a fairly competitive game . Live about 38 k "s due south of Mackay but looks like a real nice day for the match and even better if it can finish that way for Manly fans . Here :s hoping

I think their backrow (Crichton, Tupouniua, Radley) is superior to ours on form & experience. Hutchinson has a good kicking game & has been playing consistently. Walker can be match winner.

We really need our big men, Paseka, Keppie, Taupau & co, to stand up tonight!
If we minimise the impact of Radley and Tedesco we win. That’s where all their points come from.

Agree. Will be won in the forwards. If they can lay a platform first, our attack can shine off the back of that.

Would like Sipley there. Think his go forward with his big charges, keeping the feet pumping is one reason Tom and co can capitalise off the back of that out of dummy half.

Hope dez uses the bench better.

Easts have continually turned up and exceeded expectations with an injury decimated line up all year ... forget backs, forwards, refs, bench players, game plans and bad calls ... they will all play a part, but this game will be won on attitude and commitment ... if we don't match their desire ... we are ..

Rip in boys ... play like there is no tomorrow!!

Journos don't know what the "edge" is. Does anybody??

This article uses the term "edge" to mean the wingers and centres. Coaches tend to refer to backrowers and their neighbouring halves as the "edge defence".

Is the edge anything that ain't the middle? I prefer to think it is the area next to the middle, and the wingers are beyond the edge.
