Keeping it simple he wanted to play halfback & isn’t anywhere close to DCE’s level. At south’s he was battling an import with 0 nrl games, pretty easy choice for a 23 year old that wants to play 1st grade.

100% you can’t keep them all. He would of been a quality #9 for us but he was always going to go elsewhere if he was told he would play halfback

Exactly, he's got a good pass and kicks well, and a good goalkicker. The big tests are yet to come tho.

Whilst ever we keep picking Waddell , Simpkins, Aloiai and then Garrick at centre we are not a threat to the top teams. Get Brown and Talau in there to give us some aggression at least.

That's a very very light bench. Hence, if those two come in, they'll probably switch Simpkin and Tevaga, so that the bench is:

The numbers don't look pretty, but that's a much stronger bench.

To be honest I’ve heard both sides of this story.

That's possible Mark, but for so long he was talked about as a successor to DCE , however in the only games that he played in first grade was as a hooker, from memory, which was hardly a ringing endorsement from the club, that's what's disappointing.

The make up of the pack is fundamentally flawed - we don't have top NRL standard hooker, lock and lack another decent second rower. Therefore suspect Raiders maybe too good on Sunday (although helpfully a couple of their best forwards are out).

Exactly. It's like we turn a blind eye to these glaring issues. We've have a unbalanced pack with too many front rowers and one effective backrower. As a result we lack mobility and penetration. If we don't dominate possession the Canberra pack will run us off our feet.

Looks like the Raiders have picked up a good calibre backrower in Nicholson but Whitehead was fairly useful as well so probably no net gain .
Not a bad balanced side but can't really see how they have improved that dramatically from 24 .
Faulalo is a good footy player but looks like centre at i st grade not his strong suit so can only see Koula offering much more there if he is back to full fitness .
Tent , a bit down on form last week and should be better this week , Taukeiaho should offer more as well . Bully quite integral now and very hopefully Alioia can sustain some much needed input .
Looks like no Turbo , so if so , Lehi versus Weekes and also hopefully , Lehi to go real well.
Brooksy went real good against the Raiders last encounter , so a repeat effort would be very timely
Hardly ideal with no Turbo but if the case , the side will just have to adjust and play well enough accordingly to get the show back on the road

Very hard to argue with this. Hooker issue aside, just one young, dynamic forward (like that Pommy bloke who debuted with the Raiders last week) could change the whole balance of our pack.
