This photo saddens me greatly, how the fcuk did we lose the other two GF's with this team?.
Bulldogs - blatant forward passes were their go-to tactic that day and it worked.
Knights - three of their players, including their 'man of the match' were on steroids. If it was an Olympic event, they would have been stripped of their title. The ARL liked their 'underdog fairy-tale' story, and the rest is history.

Manly was a great team in that era, but it's difficult to overcome incompetent officialdom of that magnitude.

We will want to pull some nice tricks out of the bag to surprise the Panthers here tonight. Our forwards must perform and DCE & Schuster to surprise with some early attacking kicks. Maybe we have one last dig at the finals with a surprise victory tonight. Manly by 4 or maybe 6

Is it really only 5 years ago that on a fine sunny late winter Brookie arvo, a 13th-placed Manly had monstered Penrith all game and with the final siren in sight held an unassailable 24-6 lead?

For @#$& sake man.

They should be pretty pumped at home. If we can throw the Panthers off their game a bit early on we could score a few tries in the first half

For some reason I can't explain, I feel like we might have a chance of winning this one. Is this what it feels like to be an optimist?
Yeah, I've got that feeling as well, but missing our 2 first choice props and Alioi, and Tommy of course. It's a huge ask tho...carn Manly..

Can we have two game day threads? One for the numb nuts who like to ride the wave of frustration and let go their anger and joy whilst watching a game without being judged for sharing emotion (good or bad) and then another kumbaya version for the crew that take offence at people expressing emotion.

I'm normally optimistic, but this is Penrith we're playing. Even without Luai and Kenny they are still capable of winning the premiership so that tells us what we're up against here.

Play like we did last week and it could be one of those "50 points, there goes Manly's chances" nights.

We can win, we're quite capable of that. But will we? Doubtful really. Very doubtful.
