They looked good live, went backwards especially the first one

so i was at that game live, should of won it by a few tries but just lacked a bit of polish to our sets.


yes we were robbed refs had a shocker and AFB will be gone for a few weeks with priors i think.


2020 will be a season of what ifs for us, had potential but has now been wasted.


Bottom of the top 8 at best.


6th home final week 1 i could live with that

probably finish 12th or lower the way we are going.


the most annoying thing is when walker and Turbo are back i suspect we will put a few scores on the lowly teams but will be to little too late.


what is clear is we need fainu back in 2021 if cleared, levi shown the door, blood hoppa junior and try to work out

That was just painful to watch. The Worms, Rorters and Riff would have put 50 on those guys tonight.

I know it's easy to just sit here and throw darts at DCE but he is our captain and is on big coin for a reason. He is supposed to lead the team around and give structure to our sets. He's our kicker in general play. Big responsibility ? Yes. But just like Hunt at the Goons and Milf at the Ponies, when you're the marquee man, the onus is on you to do more than just think about your own performance.

DCE did some good things but when the pressure was on, he folded. And he's not allowed to. That's his time. The pass over the sideline. The misdirected pass to Suli. The total inability to find the in goal. We are STILL the only team to not score from a kick all season. WTF ?

Yeah I know his job is much harder without Tom, Walks and Manase. But he had his chances today. Especially in the second half where we had a ton of ball. We rely on him and unfortuantely he is judged by a different standard than most others.

Of the options available, I think Cust should start at 6.
Elliot has to be the fullback.
I don't think Funa has gone too badly but he's going to miss out unfortunately for him.

We are doing a lot of one out running through the middle which posed zero threat to the Nots. We need to look for offloads. Just watch the Worms. They are always putting pressure on the defensive line with the threat of second phase. We did no such thing today. They are going to tear us a new one in Round 10. And everyone knows how much I hate them. Not looking forward to it one bit.

I noticed that too.
Surely if it’s on the first tackle it should be a penalty, it’s discretionary after all.
No real advantage the way it is.

And how many of those did Newcastle give away on the first tackle while we were coming off our line? Its almost becoming the norm for teams to do that after a long kick as it gives the defence time to catch up to the play.

Yet when they were laying all over the tackled player, just like Jake got pinged for, there was very little in the way of calls from Atkins.

Yep - totally agree but footy is & always has been full of ****e biased calls by refs. Nothing we can do about it.

Today for me was two points dropped. Yes we every right to feel diddled by another crap Horsehead call that denied us a chance to kick for goal and possible golden point.

Our start again was terrible, Croker makes a fundamental error and we dont see the ball for 8 minutes and in that time DCE is done for a professional foul and we lost 8 points from the penalty and then they get a scrum penalty and score straight from that.

These poor starts are a menace and happy far too often!!! This habit must be broken.

Yet again we fight our way back into the game without a lot of ball and yet again we concede a try from a kick in the last minute of the half, we have to be better!!!!

The second half was an arm wrestle and with 20 to go we had our chance. I am frustrated that our halves dont boss games and it called for game management getting repeat sets to really tired an injury hit Knights. I will give them credit because their defence was fantastic. We did not throw a lot at them close to their line and its an achillies heel that we dont get many repeat sets or score from kicks. It was nice to see a few bombs go up and it almost got us a result.

The last minute was gut wrenching as our nemesis Horsehead ignored a blatant foul on Funa and it cost us any chance to get to golden point. Fact is it should never have come down to this!

I cant fault the effort of the team, half the spine out and restricted so much by that. I lament that we dont play smart and our halves dont boss games like the other top teams do.

We play tough but really dumb sometimes. Our go forward is fine but we lack the polish from our 9, 6 and 7 and its killing our chances to win tight games at the moment!

Gee Mark your a glass half empty these days. Fair go I always like ur posts but man they are on the downer of late. Where’s Bozo for an injection of positivity? We were ordinary again in attack but we are keeping teams to bugger all (sharks game aside). People were banging on about how ponga was going to feast on us, never happened! A few slight calls go our way and it’s a different result against a team who most are saying will contend this year. Still a long way to go this year.

Positives ?
Apart from one defensive laps where their hooker scored a soft try from dummy half and an opportunist kick try our defence was exceptional also keeping Ponga quite all game
Attack wise I dont think we were ordinary . We went over the line a few times only to be held up and also we dropped the ball on early tackles which got the knights off the hook
As you said , Still a long way to go and we still have got a lot more improvement in our team .

Second rower picked it up, you are allowed to have 5 in the scrum, but only lock and half can pick it up.if you don’t have a lock, only the half
