Game Day: Manly v Knights [Round 14, 2017]

Yes we made tough work of that one. Obviously not great conditions which is a great leveller, but any other NRL team probably put 2 or 3 on us in that first half with all that possession. We were lucky that Newcastle just don't have a lot of attack in them and are pretty one dimensional which made defending that much easier. Let's just take that one and move on to the bye.

Tactically Manly played a very good game. Blake Green, DCE led the way, with great support from the likes of Korisau and Tapau.

Think siro is gaining confidence every week. If he can keep doing that he will turn out a good buy. Big body with skill i think we will see when he gets more confidence and starts to ball play more. Frank i hardly noticed tonight still missing a strong running back rower.

Take the 2 and move on, those conditions made play impossible and probably cost us a fair bit of for and against

Our forwards absolutely destroyed them, as they should. Only time Newcastle had a chance was when the refs rode them into position

Will hear non stop about the Uate decision no doubt, but won't hear a thing of the terrible ref calls that put them into the position to score 8 of their points, the wrongly called 40-20 and also the chargedown that wasn't, if a guy is running at the kicker he is playing at the ball

Congratulations to the 4,189 who braved the weather to watch this game tonight.

Problem with Siro is he looks like the best backrower in the game, for a fleeting moment, on the extremely rare occasion. Then does fuk all.
66 mtrs????

On a dry night i think we would of put 2 or 3 on them early with all the ball we had. No player wanted to risk an off load or any second phase play or expansive passing in those conditions. Our whole attack this year has been based on that style of play

Yeah i know, but i think Barrett can get the best out of him. To me he still is finding his feet in the team. I think once he builds more confidence and gets involved more we will see the best of him. He has lots of potential.

There was nothing we could've done in that game, it was just soaking. The attack, for both sides, was fully distinguished by it meaning it was a game of luck.

We were far worse off than the knights with countless ****ty calls going against us, ****ing typical. Newcastle had about only one decision go against them (being uate's "try")

They threw how many forward passes? We should've been given how many penalties? They kicked a 40/20? No, I'll hand that all down to the refs, truly appalling tonight

Still despite this all, I believe we were fantastic defensively, held them in their half for most the match. We bombed about 4 or so tries however, which was still disappointing.

Into the top 4!!!
