Burbo and Saab are just way to average. Very obvious weak links

Actually thought Saab is looking a lot stronger and holding his own in tackles. Couple of errors the can tidy up.

Credit where is due.. Jake was great tonight..he's always solid in defence no questioning his heart and Manly spirit but he was really good tonight in areas that he's been struggling last 3 years.
Ran hard. Played good early ball when needed, play the ball was quicker and he was getting off the tackled player.. so all round great game Jake

Loved DCE response to the miss tackle which lead to Cowboys first try. Shows that we trying to reach another level.

Happy with how Sipley went off the pine, didn’t miss a tackle with 21 tackles, Tent and Haumole a clean tackle sheet with zero misses.

A touch disappointed with the defence on the left attacking edge, otherwise a very good game.

We had players going down with cramp last 15 mins the amount of running the boys did in attack.. and that's the only reason the Cows scored

I always like to watch the replay the next day coz you miss a lot of little things at the game. But on your point about new things, one was big forwards slipping passes for another big fella to bust through a gap. It was great to see.

I love Sips and yep, great to see him injury free. Let's hope he can stay that way. I was very worried about TKO when he was trying to run on the sideline but I heard on the way home that it is a leg knock rather than something structural, so that's good news. I thought he was solid. And seeing Tevaga running out oif DH was great to see. Even if he stuffed one of them, it was good to see him having a go.

And geez some folks are being a bit tough on us letting in the late tries. We were a forward down and they were gassed the last 10 mins of both halves. I'm with @Disco it was great fun out there tonight. They looked pretty slick for a lot of the game. It was a good win and I'm enjoying it 😀

Do we need to improve things? Absolutely. But a great start, I say. Rest up and get ready for a trip across the ditch.

I thought Ben was actually pretty good tonight & had some good contact in defence. It’s like people on here want to ignore the 65 mins he had actually in the back row. Let’s get this straight… He’s a back rower playing every minute that was suddenly shifted to centre with 15 minutes left. He got burnt a few times 1 on 1 by the centre but the entire team was basically out on their feet which is fair considering it’s round 1.

Loved our attack.
Did not like how Cowboys made easy metres even when we dominated possession. This was a problem last year as well. We are not controlling the ruck on defence.
Yes, Burbo needs to be dropped. He is as slow as Jake but can’t tackle like him.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I thought he was doing well in the first half. He did miss a few tackles in the second half and it didn't look good. But then I realised Tolu was off and he had shifted to the centre. The effort was there but like a few players, he got tired and he started falling off tackles and he got burned by a faster centre. But I'm happy to overlook the missed tackles for now.
