Manly players back under-pressure Barrett

Lol...I meant more that it isn't really a good comparison to look at how one player reacted to a GF loss, versus how another player reacted to a Rd 2 loss.

Might mean 'don't care', might also mean well aware it's a long season, and basic sports psychology says don't get worked up over the minor setbacks. Save the tears or whatever for the ones that matter in the big picture.

Didn't Darius cry at half time a few years ago? Was it with St George? i think so, and it's ok if it was with St George.

Now: of course the players back Barrett, this is the norm but I must say the players speak very highly of him which I think is a good sign.

Also the one time I lost at something (lol and no....not life) I always tried to be gracious, smile in defeat, shake hands sincerely with my vanquisher.

Then its what happens back in the locker room and at training that counts.

Rip a few doors apart!

I think people may put too much emphasis on how players look after a game.

Sorry detective, we have a problem.
At 12.59 - I said Bellamy sets a high bar from his players -ALL of them which then pushes them to reach that bar....compared to our replacements who are being touted as simply that - replacements....
Due to the way these Melbourne players perform, its obvious having high expectations of players instead of after a loss - blaming - because we had this or that player out - which in MY opinion reflects on the blokes replacing them.
If you stepped up to fill for anything in life - work/footy and the end result was poor - and the boss says - our main bloke was out - you don't see that as a reflection of your efforts??
I Do.
My opinion is - they are fighting for a spot and have plenty to prove - as in Lane this Saturday - I expect a big game and him to hold his spot - prove his worth.
This has nothing to do with how Barrett treats them individually - seems like a nice bloke - maybe too nice.
As for getting the best out of all these players mentioned above - It's Good for me - I disagree with you.
So treated now changes to touted?Who is touting them as replacements, the fans or Barrett? You were all positive and that before the season with your posts and now 2 games in have given up.You keep going on about people making excuses, people such as myself just look at a game and see where the strengths are and look where the problems were and come up with maybe a solution as to fix the problem.Other people just seem to bag everyone and everything and resort to lack of effort and no passion for the club too often, which is insulting to the players/coaches.

Point is my comments had ZERO to do with his general treatment of players....I simply don't agree after a game in which you know - you will need the SAME blokes back up again.
As coach blame the loss was on the back of this player out....to me that's a slap in the face for the bloke stepping up....that's how I would feel personally....then you have Bellamy state....we have no excuse, we had 17 blokes out there who can do the job.
It's not a jibe at Barrett - just an observation of a difference in a team expecting success as to a team finding outs and....at the same time not making that bloke coming in feel too good about his ability.
I am also the same bloke who posts positive mate, just feel the club in general needs honesty to move forward....here's my solution as you asked....make the tough calls...don't pick players on past reputation....get Hastings/Hopoate and other fresh faces a go to add enthusiasm and spark....sign Woods for 2018 in his prime to lead the pack....and as coach....call it out-
We fell apart and will work extra hard at training...we needed more aggression and willingness out there...the attack is a work in progress but will come good....That was simply NOT good enough today.
As you say, it's only round 2 and not jumping the gun, but need to sometimes nut out the negatives to address them and move forward.
