Manly In Crisis 2025 edition

LOL

If they were half as good in their actions as they are in the gab they would be leading the comp.

Well, I guess the commitment has been stated and written. they live or die by this based on their actions in the next 10 games. On no, now I'm at it.

Salary cap and injuries playing the biggest part in the fall [ or a bit ] of the fall from grace this season .
D C E antics definitely not helping but that has more manifest in his own serious drop off in consistent form then the team collectively .
Just can not underestimate the loss of Paseka ,almost S O O level when he has been really on in recent seasons .Alioia at his best and as a starting prop , really missed as well .
Turbo misfiring or not available for most of the season .
Maybe could or should cope with one or even two of these disadvantages but all combined , really making it difficult to get to maximum competitiveness

It is very difficult to build on competitiveness and win games when after 3 years the Manly Mentor has not been able to build, Galvanize and Inspire a resilience culture
How Many Wins against the wall have we won under Seibold ?
How Many Winnable games have we lost under Seibold ?
It is easy to make excuses @manly al
The fact is No one gets paid to make excuses at a work place
We all get paid to find solutions
Excuses dont win games
Excuses dont get you anywhere
Excuses dont win you anything .
The most boring , Underwhelming , Uninspiring people at any organisation are all the underachievers that have no winning solutions but try to justify keeping their jobs by making excuses .

looking at the remaining draw for the 25 season, I can only see perhaps 1 win.(35% chance)
we play the tigers twice and if lucky, will win one of those.
with Luai, Koroisau leading the tigers, we probably wont have a chance on both occasions.

no chances against rabbits, raiders, bulldogs, dragons, roosters.
very sad indeed.
I’d almost guarantee the team will surprise you and win a couple against all odds.

Regardless we’ll finish, 14-17 which is still a disaster

Two or three bad injuries over a year is basically a given for every team. Can hardly say Aloia is a champion. He is normally bagged on here every second week.

He is ok but if a side can’t handle losing a good prop and an average first grader in the pack then it probably shows exactly where we are at.
And Ola has just gone missing now , so that can’t be part of the excuse.

Other than Turbot ( whose replacement is fantastic) our halves and three quarters have been available all year.
Our3 or 4 wingers are much of a muchness so can’t say a few weeks out with a couple of them is any excuse.

Standard NRL injury year and no worse than most other teams.
Nothing like some of the really bad injury years we’ve had in last decade.

I understand that losing sharpens the focus on the coach and the administration, but it seems irrational to me to almost exclude the players from any responsibility. Turbo acknowledged as much in his recent interview; he didn't shy away from that fact, and I'm willing to bet that most players would say the same.
We all know things aren't ideal at the moment, and a degree of disharmony is to be expected, but the incessant criticism of the club that seems to be filtering through every discussion can make for hard reading. And before someone starts lecturing me about strong people not making excuses and the like, please consider that we all want the club to be number one, and we all share that pain that comes from losing. Far be it from me to tell someone else what to post, but a modicum of positivity (now and then) would sure be a welcome relief.
Yes, the players also bear responsibility for losses, as do the coaches, the administration and the owner. It does seem at times that incessant criticism of anyone but the coach is acceptable though.

How many times have we heard that the forwards are plodders, DCE is a white anting traitor, Turbo is passed it, Jake should retire, Ben has never been first grade standard, Croker is useless, Brooks was a waste of money, Saab can’t catch, etc etc. I’d say the players have copped plenty on here.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I have also heard mention once or twice that Penn is a penny pinching absentee owner who is the reason we will never win anything, and that Mestrov should go back to the greyhounds.

What are the positives again?

Relevant points but should have put more emphasis on the salary cap factor in that with Manly "s
top grouping high earners in D C E , Turbo , Jake and Haumole , only Haumole regularly providing real money for value .
Just don 't think that any other club that has invested similar outlays for a top grouping of playing personal and particularly in recent times has experienced 3 out of 4 literally performing well below a required level apart from availability factors .
And then compounded with the ability to bring in a bit of quality with depth as just don "t have the cap space then or an effective junior production line for some obvious reasons
Again on the injury front , Turbo , Paseka, Haumole and Alioia are pretty big outs for whatever individual longer term stints when trying to get a season long competitive sequence going
Alioia has had an appalling record with availability and consistent form and not a good situation but, one of the few current Manly available forwards who can make some decent impact when fit and able .
Maybe not on 600 K any more but still taking a decent chunk of the cap .
Brooks on some 600 - 650 K , well down [ certainly in attack ] from his 2004 level
Koula , Lehi , Garrick , Saab even Talau can be top liners if given some decent opportunity and not playing off a struggling forward lineup
Probably most recent example of a Manly side in danger of getting the spoon was 2018 and not unlike this season , had a bad run with injuries but a couple of other lower ranked sides struggling even more to just avoid it .
This season , just do not have that luxury [ or part ] and has to be a bit of a concern to being able to avoid it right now

Crisis can be our Best Friend who looks us straight in the eye and says wake up you fool and makes us aware that Great things come out of Crisis
When we are in a Crisis we are at the end of our Comfort zone
We are forced to face the Music (The Eagle Rock) and confront challenges which are crucial in building resilience and finding a way to prevail.
We All have the opportunity to turn our lives around

"likely to win our next two matches"?? Have you not been watching our recent games..............
@Ralphie would love to hear your thoughts on why you disagree?

Do you think 7 minutes is an adequate amount of time to effectively express concerns, be able to take on a players views and put forward a strategy to both improve team and player outcomes?
I went on speed dates longer than that!
