Manly Sea Eagles new pack makes mince meat of heavyweights Cronulla
by Dan Walsh, Foxsports

After 23 minutes the premiers pack had been reduced to matchsticks by Marty Taupau (109 metres in his first stint), Blues star Jake Trbojoveic and a reborn Curtis Sironen, who had an unlikely double and five tackle busts en route to an early 18-0 lead.

We have claimed some highly rated scalps this year and just missed one in the storm.

Marty is the man,it starts and goes with how he goes,he sets the tone and standard. The offloads were outstanding and crucial today,we won the point of contact from the start and it went on all day.Best forward in the competition,I would not swap him for any other.

Before the season began I wasn't confident we would have beaten the big teams like the Sharks, Cows, Roosters, Raiders (twice) and blown the Dogs off the park. Credit to Bozo and Barrett who reputedly have put together this imposing forward pack we currently boast.

Principal Greenberg will sort this out. NRL High has a no bullying policy. I wouldn't be surprised if we're excluded from the finals.

You'd think the journos would know the spelling of Jake's name by now.

Our pack did out muscle em. Lawrence was just as awesome. He took it right to Fifita early. He's massive for us. Lol and Qld picked Glasby to take on Fafita. Darcy playing top grade and not giving away any silly penalties was equally as pleasing.

All the forwards went well ... Perrett is starting to look like he has a pair.

We didn't bully Cronulla we just out muscled them. However Cronulla tried their hardest to bully us but failed. Cronulla were their usual grubby selves, astonishingly cummins didn't let them get away with it

If I were a cronulla fan I'd be upset at the decision to give gallen another year. He fell off quite a few tackles, some of which led to tries. This year is one season too many. Next year looks like carelessness on the part of the Sharks.

Good to see Darcy back today, hope the rumours about him leaving are just that.We have a number one prop in Marty and lots of number 2 props(no pun intended but insert joke if needed, second pun not intended either)Lussick gives us another number one calibre prop who can lead the pack if needed, just needs some match fitness now.The other guys are going great but are not true leaders to take on all comers up front like Ward,Bella,Carroll,Kite.
