Fainu is potentially a great No 9 ...... my biggest worry with him is his ego and attitude ... if Des and co can turn that around and if he is cleared of the stabbing charge then fantastic for him and us .... but I have my worries ..... he needs to become a full 80 minute player too

IMO Fainu is potentially the best 9 behind Cam Smith .
I believe he is potentially our best Manly 9 ever in terms of individual brilliance .
As far as ego goes it is hard to be humble when you are as great as Fainu is . So he can be excused for that .
Lets not forget he is still a young fellow that is chasing fillies 😉

Don't think he has an ego at all, quite the opposite. He is very much a team player from what I have seen, very well liked with team mates, always attended matches when he was injured, hangs out with a lot of players outside of footy which is important to have that comradeship. He took a big pay cut cause he wants to be at Manly to repay their faith. I don't read into too much Instagram crap, as long as he trains hard and puts in 100% on the field. I really think he is a gun, I cannot wait to hopefully get him back on the park next year. Foran and DCE and Shuster getting smart service from Faniu is going to go along way to getting us back to where we need to be. The way he can hold up defence, runs with the ball out in front with two hands, has a step, a palm, an off load and most importantly knows when to run and when to pass.

I don’t know if Foran really is the number 9 in 2021 , maybe the 14 for a bit of up tempo change after 30 minutes and I really really fear that we’ll have Lachlan Croker again which will make the potential return of Fainu in August ( the best scenario) too little too late.

I gotta say I’m pretty surprised we signed him again based on his length of time out to date and potentially another full season.

It’s a bit like just rolling over and accepting that 2021 won’t be much different to 2020.

UNLESS there’s another ace up the sleeve we don’t know about.

ScamSmith playing for the Bears would not be near as effective ,, and Api playing with the current Penriff squad is reaching superstar status ...
