Personal avatars are to replace all footballers.
Grounds to be replaced by CG Arenas.

Japanese manga producers, Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic, Hollywood's James Cameron and New Zealand's Peter Jackson are to be hired by all football codes to create CG football matches. Todd Greenberg and Nick Politis have been nominated to decide the outcome of each NRL CG match. This decision has been made despite the growing threat of a virulent computer virus, said to be lurking in media circles. Mr Greenburg will present a CG diamond ring to each successful team member after the grand final as well as one each for their wives, and a CG bone for their dogs (in memory of Greenburg's roots)

They already do Bear ... the video game world is full of virtual football and sports ... we used to have a young poster on here that thought real teams were like his fantasy coach game ... kept on posting team yarts with up to 7 players from other clubs ...

Point taken, but what I'm saying is that players and grounds are to be replaced.

GREENBERG PENIS CUT OFF IN TERRORIST ACT
14 OF 16 CLUBS CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY

The penis of NRL CEO Todd Greenberg was cut off overnight in a terrorist act. The appendage was subsequently found in the coin slot of a poker machine at Bulldogs Leagues Club.

In a stunning development, 14 of the 16 NRL clubs have claimed responsibility, with only the Broncos and Roosters denying any involvement.

Police have so far decided to ignore the clubs’ claims, saying they just wish they were the ones actually responsible.

“We are currently investigating approximately 500 people who have said at one point or another that they wanted to do this. It could’ve been anyone. The guy’s a massive tool and has heaps of enemies.”

More to come (well not for Todd)....

'Mana From Heaven'. Apparently, an 'epiphany' has prompted a young man to present himself at Liverpool Police Station and confess to a stabbing at Wattle Grove church on 29th October 2019. Subsequently, all police charges against Manly hooker, Manase Fainu, have been dropped. It is expected the NRL will end the Stand Down imposed on Fainu and he will be free to continue his playing career with the Sea Eagles.

Love this headline if true......

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg's time in the top job could come to an end "as early as early as this week" due to a dispute with clubs over money.

The Sydney Morning Herald claims its a matter of when not if Greenberg will be shown the door because he shortchanged the clubs after ARLC commissioner Peter V'Landys negotiated the terms of a rescue package to keep the clubs afloat through the first few months of the coronavirus crisis.

The 16 NRL teams were told they would receive $1.21m in April to help them survive but they were paid $23,000 less each.

While it's not a huge amount, the clubs need every penny they can get right now.

Some club chiefs got in touch with V'Landys about the problem and it's said the commissioner was "ropeable" especially since the NRL went against his directive to give the clubs the full amount. He made sure they got paid the remaining owed the next day.

Club chiefs also expressed concern over being shorted over payments to the distressed club fund.

Since the new broadcast cycle was implemented at the start of 2018, the clubs had put away $187,500 every year into an account which they could access in case financial hardship hit the game.

When the clubs asked for their money back they were once again short-changed more than $30,000 each.

It took another phone call to V'Landys for them to be paid the $31,250 still owing.

If V'landys hadn't of stepped in to make things right, the clubs would have missed out on a $1.6 million combined, a huge figure considering the uncertainty surrounding the game.

The report claims the fact that V'Landys took the side of the clubs than the NRL is a sure sign Greenberg is on the outs.
