Major Sponsor

I posted that URM had come on as a major sponsor the day after the Awards night last year. I got howled down by a few of you if i remember right

I think it was Zorba who mentioned it on the night but i wasn't sure whether i had heard correctly or had several schooners too many.

Anyway, it's good news.

I was there, and it was never made clear if they were a major sponsor or not, the announced a new sponsorship of some kind, rather quickly if I might add, and with little fanfair or explaination.

Whats more this is clearly a new deal, not the same one announced at the end of season dinner.

URM are currently Gold Sponsors - whihc was what was annoucned at the last awards night - my guess it is another company

All companies need a place where they control their operations from, why not the Nth Beaches, its as good a place as any.

Fair enough, they just don't sound like a national company. But if they want to sponsor us that's great.

TE, not really. You want a corporate centre to have good access and transport, the beaches does not have that.

While I agree, location is becoming less important every year. More and more business does not need face to face discussions. The Nth Beaches is still at a disadvantage, but this is slowly disappearing, hopefully one effect of the NBN will be to speed up the process.

Blackmores HQ was at manly vale, now at warriewood - a huge factory warehouse. Wonder if the club has ever approached them as major sponsor? Would be a good fit with a sports team
