Lodge, you Monster

Life gives All of us the opportunity to learn and grow from our mistakes
The Legal system convicts us as it should but people should not condemn us if we had paid the price and have done the time

Good people give People the opportunity to make amends and Become Better people
A world with without hope is a hopeless world to live in

How many of you would not give your son or daughter who have paid the price for their wrongs a second chance ?
So @BOZO if someone belts the tripe out of your mother, wife, daughter or sister... or maybe touches up your kids...you'd have them over for thanksgiving dinner when they got out? What you really want to do is jump the barrier in court and belt the f#ck out of him with a baseball bat. Believe me.

He played well when he was earning a contract previously so if he rolls his sleeves up again and has a real dig then that gives us more depth in the front row at a small cost. There are a number of players that the NRL let back into the game that I still doesn't sit well with me but those decisions has been made. IMO we already have too many large slower forwards and lack young, mobile bulls in our pack. Manly need to address this imbalance.

I have done a lot of dumb sh*t in my time @BOZO, stuff I aint proud of (usually when drunk) yet I have never put my hands on a women... even got king hit by a chick one night after intervening in a DV and still kept hands off her...

It is not a self-control thing, it is not a simple case of making a mistake... it is a morals thing and I have no respect for any "man" that does not get that... these blokes are grubs and our club is poorer for inviting their type into the fold...

Mind blowing that any of these guys can walk back into professional sport but "money talks" and "win at all cost" is real...

Anyways, said my piece and none of this sh*t is gonna change anytime soon...

hopefully our first choice forward pack can play strong and hold their positions in top grade...

Just a side issue with Lodge being punched in the head - where do clubs sit these days when it comes to liability for possible CTE issues for players? We know only too well about player safety and there is now a greater emphasis on head injuries. So if a player is allowed to take up boxing and get beaten around the head, who is responsible for that? Lodge or the club?
I think it depends on the contract…Saab was signed and ready to go when he fought at Revesby Workers so I imagine the club were prepared to concede liability in that instance. However, Lodge has only just negotiated a part-time deal, with a fight already booked, so you’d have to think Manly have waived responsibility on this one.

Who knows, maybe they gave Saab their blessing but he signed a waiver, etc.

I like the Contract in particular because Lodge would not have had a pre season and his football fitness right now might not be where it needs to be for NRL.

He now has a couple of weeks and then 10 or so rounds of footy to either find peak fitness for the footy field. Or Alternatively his body lets him down for another year.

Either way he is on a reserve grade contract until one prevails.

Empathy is all about putting our selves in some one else's situation

And so I ask you my feathered friend ...
If that some one that made those terrible wrong choices was your mother , or your son or daughter or your wife and were convicted and paid the price and did time and more importantly were remorseful for what they had done .
Would you wait out side the jail and get the baseball bat and Pulverise them ?

Hmmmm, either way seems fraught.

It's usually the star players who cause all the dramas yet are still getting second, third and fourth chances because of their ability that we say wouldn't be afforded to an average player. This bloke is a drama magnet - and a decidedly average player especially the last 4 or 5 years.... yet keeps getting contracts. He's dead set blessed.

I'm over him. If he plays 1 good game this year or half turns his form around he'll just bring out the 4 kids excuse again and ask for a release to the highest bidder. If he continues to just loiter he'll just clog up our books for another 2 years. Don't know why we bother. Its lose/lose with people like him.
