Lodge, you Monster

lodge still hasn't been picked up. He lives on the Northern Beaches, and could still go back to Manly with cap in hand and ask if the 300k offer for 2 seasons is still on the table. Then again, the fire in the belly to prove yourself once again might not be there anymore.
Condon might be a stumbling block. I reckon we will still offload him but will be paying freight if not all of his contract to free a spot.

Yep, very frustrating situation with Condon, turns out he picked up a non football related injury ?.. prompting Leigh to withdraw their offer for Condon. Watch this space I guess...

He was spotted doing extras with Tommy and Jake at Narrabeen about a week ago.
Looks like he keeping fit while waiting for his next contract.

Or maybe, just keeping himself in view at Narrabeen. You never know, a renewed offer by Seibs could be a possibility.

Lodge's contract negotiations...

Wonder what sort of money is being offered to players mainly designated for the Manly N S W cup side .
Only [ or is it slightly more or can be more then 30 ] for the main N R L squad , development players to take into account also.. Train and trial guys
Lodge maybe for a N S W cup level salary - contract but could not envisage it to be that much .
Doesn t seem to be that much interest elsewhere and his form towards the end of 24 was a bit ordinary to say the least .
Guess that the club has already or will make up their mind one way or another

No idea what NSW contracts might be.
Wakeham is another who you would think is in that category.

I thought there was an overall cap for the entire team in Ressies which included match payments and bonuses etc? It had a significant overhall a few years back. But I can't value add to what a top paid Ressies can take home in 25.

What I do know is.
Minimum top 30 is 135k in 25.
Supplementary is like 80k ish.

I think the big lure for blokes like Wakeham with NRL experience is that opportunities can come about during the year before June 30.

Id say the grass wasn't so green when he started looking around. Maybe over estimated his worth ( or his manager did)
I get the feeling he had a deal for half decent coin at another club and it fell through. He was talking as if knocking back Manly was a no-brainer because he was going to get more than a minimum wage somewhere else. That it's taken this long for him to find a club and it's a train and trial deal, says that something went arse up. I have no inside information but that's how it reads from the outside looking in.

Agree, and it would seem he probs burnt his bridges with us on the way out.
Seems like he's popular among the playing groups but not necessarily with the guys in the office.
A shrewd call by the Dragons, he plays well when he needs a contract.

Apparently he was training with Souths for a considerable period. Assuming it was them

He's certainly giving new meaning to the term 'journeyman'.

He’s never been at a winning club. Glad we’ve seen the back of him.

You would think playing for a club in the area you live in, that has also stuck by you through two major injuries would be enough to get you to stick around but sounds like Matthew has overestimated his own value and is now going to play for a worse team for less, unlucky. I’m sure things will go differently at the 5th club in 5 years!
