AOA just hasn't looked his old self the last couple of months. Might need some surgery in the off season may be. Something seems a miss.
I don't think he's been the same since he was injured in the first play of that last Roosters game. Pretty much lines up with his fall off. Prior to that (ignoring his brain snaps) he was quite good.

1. He left to be coached by Arthur, as he grew disillusioned with the club after Gifty was cut. Said it wasn’t the same place anymore.
2. He asked for a release from the Eels on compassionate grounds. There are articles with quotes from Brad Arthur, who housed Foran at his family home on occasions during that difficult period. He was not asked to leave at the end of the season. Arthur was devastated.
3. He most definitely was wanted at the Warriors but moved home to be near his children.
4. The Dogs never ‘released’ Foran, he saw out his contract and they chose not to offer a new deal.

The only club you could you say he was a liability for, was Parra. All his other clubs, he gave 110%. He’s chalked up over 300 games, so for a liability, he sure did well to sustain a career of over 15 years.

Lets get to the basics. Both players had legal concerns during their career. Both had behavioral issues at at least one club. Both were invited to leave or not offered fresh contracts at three clubs for various reasons. Neither one was asked to stay at those clubs. You say that the Warriors wanted him to stay. I did not read of any offer being made and his contract there was for one year. The Dogs indicated to 8 players that they were not being offered contracts, including Foran, at the end of Foran's stay. The Parramatta issue was a mutual agreement but I think Parramatta was glad to see him go given the huge contract, the drug, gambling issues and behavioural matters that saw him relinquish the captaincy and fined $5000. Come on Leonard. He was a liability and that's why he grabbed at the only contract offered after the Dogs from his old mate Hasler (for reportedly basement monies). He surprised many, including myself, when he did so well at Manly.

A liability with a 15 year career and over 300 games of first grade?! Yeah OK.

Agree with most of your points, but will pull you up on the Warriors bit, family the official reason but they were happy to see the back of him

Warriors say good riddance to Foran

Kieran Foran only stayed one season at the Warriors, but he left a lasting legacy - of sorts.

"He is the most difficult, rude and disagreeable person I've ever dealt with," a veteran Warriors official told me.

The Warriors have not shed too many tears over the loss of Kieran Foran to the Bulldogs. (AAP)

"He won't be missed by anyone at the club - good riddance."

After a disappointing return to football at the Warriors in 2017, Foran will be looking to regain his best form at the Bulldogs next season.

It was a difficult time for him ... but I can't blame the Warriors, he had a few dud years for various reasons after leaving us the first time. We got great value from him both stints and the Tits have been better for his inclusion there. .... imho ... of course

Wow. Never saw that at the time and heard through a mutual source he returned home for family reasons. Maybe that was just a way of managing publicity. Happy to admit when I get it get it wrong. Apologies @Bearfax

No, only a liability at Parramatta, Warriors and the Dogs. Top player at Manly and Titans where he has played 237 games. It only applies to a significant part of the 66 games he played elsewhere. Don't get me wrong. I hold Foran in high regard as a footballer. Same with Lodge. Their personal issues and its effect on their performances at times is another issue.

It wasn’t a widely known thing at the time and those comments didn’t receive wide coverage. There was a rumour at the time he was trying to get back at them for previous treatment of Liam Foran

Gosh. This has been fun. We'll need all this banter over the non season period or we'll go loopy...Oh... I'm already loopy. So I guess i may as well return to my cave and hibernate for the summer

Not yet Bear... hang in there, we have a tad over 2 weeks of Manly's season left - THEN you can rest mate... 😁

The one occasion where I thought he’d channel his aggression & take it out on the roosters & he was virtually nonexistent.
Look I dont like the guy and I only keep saying that as full disclosure because it likely clouds my opinion... but...

I honestly have had 1 maybe 2 games where I thought he was important to our side... not saying he has been sh*t but I genuinely think he has been run-of-the-mill and there is not a snowflakes-chance-in-hades that I would be upgrading his contract if I were running recruitment...

at low price I get it but he is injury prone, inconsistent and just not anywhere near the player he was as a young fella... I am positive we could spend the dollars better (eg. I would have Toff over Lodge any day)..

just my clouded opinion...

We need an Alpha prop, Lodge was effective the previous three games, he didn’t play as well today, but if we don’t have an Alpha teams like the Tigers get on top in the middle.

I agree with everything you say.

I’m also not a fan of him but put aside my dislike to give him a chance while he was in our colours.

He’s only an alpha forward against weaker opposition - as soon as another forward stands up to him he goes missing & starts playing dirty & becomes a liability.

We have Guac, we have Toff and we have Tent... they are huge men that can play that "Alpha" role if it really is necessary... we also have Brown who is a natural Alpha but has given it away cause it just costs you penalties in todays vanilla NRL...

They bashed him tonight. Spoke up in the press about the physical battle and the Rooters hit him three strong every time. I still like him as an enforced type, but he's gonesky. Paseka is a line bender but will never be an enforcer. Sipley isn't it. Ola is the only true alpha we have. I'd go for. RCG
