Former New Zealand international Kevin Locke will attempt to revive his NRL career with Manly.

The fullback will aim to play in the club's trial matches in February.

Locke has not played in the NRL since he left the Warriors after five years in mid-2014 to join English Super League outfit Salford.

The fullback spent an unhappy year with the Red Devils, where he accused the franchise of unpaid wages and endured injuries and personal issues before joining Wakefield.

The eight-Test international's injury-ravaged three-month stint with the Wildcats ended after five games.

He was also suspended by the club for being involved in a car crash with former Parramatta playmaker Tim Smith.

Locke signed with the National Rugby Championship's Western Sydney Rams in June but he did not feature in the club's 2016 campaign.

From Fox Sports reporter Zac Bailey, who is pretty close with what goes on at the club.

Just spoke to the club. It's similar to the Dave Taylor situation for Canberra. No contract YET...Locke has to prove his worth in the trials
As I said yesterday he is on a train and trial.
