Lack of Mobility in the pack stood out

They say you always get something out of a loss, personally I don't find much good out of it, though you can reflect on where the opposition exposed your defence....
Regardless of Anderson scoring 10 tries and Howarth burning Garrick 2nd half, the real leaks started centrally....and who better to expose this area than the cunning, ultra talented Harry Grant ?
I found when whips were cracking and the game was "on the line", they were FAR quicker around that ruck and the early tries pretty much showed this clearly....could not match them for speed of play the ball, line speed and /or marker defence to shut off momentum and it was a blitz off fast rolling momentum and I feel this was by far the biggest difference on Sunday.
The late surge when Storm turned off the switch and the money ball shift plays out wide from Storm were not the major factors of this game.
It was the lack of mobility in the middle, in both attack and defence....to add 1 or 2 quicks in the Cam Murray, Preston type moulds would be a welcome addition and I hate to sound negative, but this flaw in the Manly game will be a blueprint that noone can expose better than Melbourne, but 100% Sharks will come out straight through those mids with Cam McGuiness, AFB and co blowing up that middle and not convinced Manly have the players to control it ?
Love to be proven wrong and I expect a far better showing this week, but the reality is we lack speed and agility through the middle 3rd and Brailey though no Grant, will have his players attacking it all day and even with a gutsy showing will be hard to contain.
What would really make me sick is if Manly play Hynes back into form and that's all we hear from these ridiculous commentary teams (sound down is defs an option)
Anyways back to the thread, really need that extra mobility and if only we could bring back Choc Watmough and BK, I reckon we would give anyone a good run....and I hope moving forward Manly have a look at this....maybe even a chance on Navale and is that Patolo almost due for a run, both at least have leg speed and mobility....

Combine that lack of agility with a lack of aggression and we are in serious trouble.

We have a total of two forwards other teams might like to have: Haumole and Bully. As much as I love Jake, he's at the end of his career, and no other team is taking him on the coin we're paying. But his experience and love for the club are invaluable, and he'd probably thrive in a veteran's role with better players around him. Everyone else is filler.

That doesn't mean they all have to go - every team needs role-playing forwards - but it does mean we need at least one more "superstar" or "alpha", someone who will drag the rest of them up to a decent level.

And don't get me started on our need for an actual hooker.

110%

If we put all our forwards on the market only two would see clubs knocking the doors down to sign them.

The rest

Jake would get an offer as a prop, maybe $400k

And the others , not much more than basic wages.

Even Paseka , who many rate , wouldn’t be in high demand.

There’s your issue , not the backs , not the halves , not the ****ing coach , it’s the cattle or lack of them

Which is why it's mind boggling that Bully only had 34 minutes

Spot on, sadly our lack of forward mobility and speed with and without the ball, will contrast spectacularly against a sharks side who play quickly. Love Jake but watching his hit ups feels like someone hit the slow motion button. Workers and rushing defence ala dogs will beat a flashy backline almost every time

True story, nikora, Mchuiness and even AFB for a big man will create chaos Saturday.....and the great man Jake was like watching the matrix with those hit ups....Hate to say it but apart from some Haumole charges and the brief impact of Nathan Brown, the pack was like boys vs men and to Top it off, they have Grant steering the ship around....the perspective hurt a fair bit, as clearly showed we are even further off than we all hoped.....

Yeah, Paseka is a bit like Turbo: with a permanent asterisk reading "If available". Can be great, but is rarely available.
Yeah he’s had some injuries but when he gets going he’s bloody hard to stop. I’d be persisting with him. But have to agree on most of the other forwards. The looked more like ‘backwards’ rather than ‘forwards’ on the weekend VS Melbourne’s pack.

I reckon Bully had some impact too. And Burbo out wide in attack ran some good lines. But in the middle, it was very one sided.

Burbo actually played one of his better games.

But only Ola or Bully looked to be causing the Drizzle any issues , they slaughtered us up the middle which then gave their backs oodles of space.

Burbo could possibly have a Yeo story arc?

Massive whipping boy, average centre/backrow. Goes to lock and wins 4 prems in a row.

Haha, wishful thinking.

Similar builds though.

After 3 years this is the bed that Seibold made to lie in
After 3 years this is Seibolds choice of players . Not all players on the market are over 30 and over the Hill . Bellamy finds them and primes them .
After 3 years Mestrovs new Recruitment Mastro is Missing in action
After all these years the club can not get their cap in order
After all those years the club has nothing to offer but Excuses and Zero Solutions
Excuses are the Reason the Manly club are Stuck in this Muck

And yet you want to give DCE $1.2m to run it all back again for the next two years.

You are comparing apples with oranges feathered friend .
I am not the one that determines DCE's Worth
The NRL stock Market determines the Rare and Elite Halves Value

The stock market value on slow and aging forwards in bargain based price
Just like the ones we have been recruiting

I said it pre game that we would get killed in the forwards.

Comparing the middles of Jake, Sio T, Sipley and Tevaga v Stefano, Grant, King and Loirero is just embarrassing, not withstanding we have some injuries in our prop rotation

Its like comparing a truck to a sports car in terms of speed and lateral movement.

Seibold needs to find more balance and that means more of Bully, Simpkin and even Navale. Tevaga can come off the bench as a prop.

With no Paseka and Aloiai I would be running with

8. Sio T
9. Simpkin
10. Jake
11. Haumole
12. Ben T
13. Bully

Bench

14. Tevaga
15. Navale
16. Brown
17. ?

We need a total rebuild
From Club owner to Club Cleaner
We need New people to Clean this Manly Mess
We need People that are capable of finding solutions to Win Premierships
I wish Mr Penn finds a New Hobby and Sells the club at a Profitable Price
As I dont mean any Ill feelings against him
I Just Miss our Dominant Manly

What you don't discuss, is that like in the NRL and the stock market, people pay the wrong price.

Why don't you ask those that bought shares a month ago? There were buyers and sellers at that point and yet the stock market has now gone down 15%-20%.

Similarly you can ask Newcastle in a years time how they are feeling about paying $1.4m to Dylan Brown.
