Success on the field, profit off the field, players love playing for the club, record membership numbers. Quick lets start changing things!

Could not have put this better myself.

As long as we ignore the occasional bad press story emanating from Zorba to his "media hack mates", then life goes on blissfully well.

I've only been a Football Club member since 01 Dec 2010 so i don't think that I am eligible to vote until next year.
http://manlyfootballclub.com.au/documents/2012%20MWRLFC%20Annual%20Report.pdf

Check Page 23 , it lists all the Members who were Ineligible in 2012.
Page 21 are the eligible members in 2012.
Plus the Annual Reports will clarify a lot of information on Football Club activities for those confused about their agenda. List of all Manly Players, achievements and great photos

You need to have 3 consecutive years' membership to be eligible.
http://manlyfootballclub.com.au/index.php/contact Contact them here and they can update you and their list in case your name was not added in time.

I checked and could not find a 'Jethro' in the whole Report:p

What good is looking at the 2012 Annual Report to see if you are eligible to vote? This is 2013 and I haven't seen an annual report for this year yet.

Oh yeah, Jethro is there in the list of 2012 Ineligible Members. You just need the decoder to decipher the secret code to reveal my true name :p

^pffft even I know your real name!

And just how do you know that? Are you facebook friends with Dan, Stevo, or CAMBO or have been looking at their facebook friends? Vidmar is the only other person on Silvertails that I know of outside of facebook who knows who I am.

Well I thought that if you are on the 2012 list, you may go back and see if you are on the 2011 too.

Simple arithmetic may alert you to either being eligible for this AGM and your name was accidently left off the list, or if 2011 has no entry, wait till next year.

Easier to just PM Vidmar and get the proxy form emailed.

To check if you are eligible to vote is pretty easy - you can do it on-line.

Go here: http://membership.manlyfootballclub.com.au/
follow the prompts on how to log in with your email address - See the note regarding if it is your first log in or if you have forgotten your password and then follow the prompts (you'll receive an email with password set prompt if you are a first time visitor)

To vote you need to be a 2013 member and have also been a continuous member since 2010 (so 2010, 2011 & 2012)

If you are still not sure email me at [email protected] and I'll help?

How many posting in here actually have a vote, I'll declare that I do!!!

Such a pity that all " members" don't tick the box so they can have a say as well, it seems many that that being a member entitles them to this BUT it doesn't.

I do...and I'll say now I'm giving the current chairman my proxy. Those that know me ,know I'm manly thru and thru, and I think the current mob are doing a pretty good time,in uneasy times!

Board battle set to shake up Manly
December 3, 2013 Roy Masters

When Abraham Lincoln declared "a house divided against itself cannot stand", he hadn't heard of Manly.:p

The Sea Eagles have played in four grand finals in the past seven years, despite having an NRL board that is as dysfunctional as the board at wooden spooners Parramatta.

They have defied the words of US president Lincoln and team of the century coach Jack Gibson, who produced the aphorism that the success of a club depends on its front office.

However, a coming battle for control of the board of the Manly football club threatens to shake the very foundations of the northern beaches NRL team.

The two votes the football club delivers to the seven-person board of the NRL franchise, the Sea Eagles, determines who holds the power in the battle between co-owners the Penn family (three votes) and Quantum (two votes).

There are two opposing tickets for the football club vote to be decided on December 19.

The incumbent board, which includes former players Cliff Lyons and Darrell Williams, boasts supporters such as prominent author Tom Keneally and sprinter Melinda Gainsford-Taylor, as well as former internationals Terry Randall  and TV host Paul Vautin, although the challengers categorise some of these as "fence sitters".

The "your team" bid includes the captain of the 1982 Invincibles, Max Krilich; his 1976 and 1978 premiership teammate Alan Thompson; 1982 Kangaroo and Manly great Ray Brown; 100-game Sea Eagle Warren Jowett; 2000 Olympics gold medal-winning water polo player Debbie Watson; and Warwick Bulmer, a life member of the Manly junior league and the first non-player to receive the Doug Daley clubman of the year award.

The campaign, therefore, pits former teammates against each other (Randall versus Krilich and Thompson; Lyons versus Brown), as well as two Olympians and foundation members of the Eagles Angels booster group: Watson, the 1993 international water polo player of the year and a school teacher, versus Gainsford-Taylor, who is claimed by the rival group.

It's possible the 400 members who will vote for the six positions on the Manly football club board could choose a mix of both tickets, meaning the two delegates to the already-divided Sea Eagles board could also be split.

It would be akin to one of the most dysfunctional front rows ever to run onto a football field: three international hookers in Krilich, Brown and John Gray played in a 1980 match against Cronulla. Manly lost, probably the scrums as well.

The current football club representatives on the Sea Eagles board are its chairman Bob Reilly and Williams.

If successful at the forthcoming vote, the "your team" bid is likely to name Jowett as its chair and nominate this 25-year veteran of multinational business to the Sea Eagles board.

They have heard the rumours that they are merely part of a Penn strategy that would see Williams and Reilly replaced by two delegates, one of whom would be Krilich, to deliver the Penns control over Quantum.

Brown says: "I can't stress enough that we will be independent and vote in the best interests of the Sea Eagles, the district and the junior league. We carry no baggage. We are not aligned to any faction. Warren Jowett would be our chair and delegate. He's held senior roles in management. He is very cluey for a front-rower."

The "your team" bid has been very astute (an adjective once reserved exclusively for former Manly supremo Ken Arthurson) with its choice of proxy – the name to tick for postal voters.

They have nominated Thompson, the 1978 Kangaroo five-eighth, former coach and general manager of a big plumbing co-operative. Thompson grew up in a fibro home in Narrabeen and his best mate is Les Boyd, meaning there can be no higher praise.

The "your team" group has also been accused of potentially splitting the existing Manly playing group, with Bulmer, a team manager, close to many of them.

However, Bulmer is a retired taxation investigator and just the person to supervise Manly's salary cap audit.

The "your team" bid, whose slogan is "integrity, stability and harmony", are already questioning the status of voting papers that have been returned but are not ticked.:-/

But Keneally, described as "a silver tongued devil" by one of the opposing silvertails, says: "Former premier Barrie Unsworth will be the returning officer, so there will be no shenanigans. I can't see why there has to be a challenge when we've made a profit and the grand final.

"I respect all the people on the rebel ticket and hope that on the night [the annual general meeting] we can have an end to this perception of a club in crisis. There isn't a crisis, unlike Parramatta."

But I thought all leaks were from zorba?

Didn't ray brown play under Roy Masters at west. My memory is a bit scratchy .
If they won't peace and harmony, why have they gone to the current players for support. I really don't like that.

I don't have a vote and don't know, or particularly care, about the argy-bargy enveloping the Board. My only observation is that it seems to be a good thing that we have so many good people with the Manly Sea Eagles at heart who want to become Board members. This situation is far more healthy than having no-one who was willing to stand!
I'm heartened to think that whoever wins the vote will do what they believe is best for the club and, ultimately, all Manly fans.

Drip's commitment to the Italian RLWC side has ended - so resume of normal operations :dodgy:

Yes, we did get Ray Brown from Wests, but Igor is as Manly as the day is long

Gents,

As it is the SMH it is not in the "style" of a Rothfield "piece" however you can see the agenda a mile off

I am not saying either party is right - all i am saying is neither party can claim the moral high ground here....it is just murky as!

As I have said before " if it ain't broke then don't try and fix it"

Success on the field
Club making a profit
Good membership increase

Not much broke really is there ??

We just have to live with Zorba dribbling to his. News Ltd mates every so often.

I love the fact there is an 'n' missing in your 'ain't broke' quote!
