If he plays beyond 2026 it will be total confirmation that this club is an absolute basket case with no idea what the modern game requires and more to the point a huge issue for Jake's health.Managing his time on the field is key to extending his career and making sure the team get maximum benefit from his abilities.

Maybe he'll transition into coaching or administration in 2027.Well he is signed for 2026 and an announcement about an extension is very close, maybe as close as tomorrow or next week.

Well we could certainly do with some inspiration at Manly HQ…No frills forward Kobe Hetherington's secret battle with an agonising injury is proving to be Brisbane's inspiration as they charge towards the grand final.
Hetherington has had his best season in the NRL and he and Billy Walters are the only Broncos to play in all 25 matches.
But for the past two months, the tough forward has been dogged by a nagging hip injury that prevents him from training with his mates in the lead-up to games.

The 26-year-old forward gets painkilling injections most weeks to enable him to play and spends most training sessions just riding a stationary bike.
"We can see the pain he is in but he never complains or tries to take short cuts," a club source told Wide World of Sports.
"He will join the team for the captain's run but the rest of the time, it is too hard for him to run.
"The fact he hasn't missed a game all year shows how tough he is and how committed he is to the boys and they all really appreciate how he is putting in for them."
Ironically, Hetherington will be lost to the Broncos next season, having signed a four-year deal with Manly from 2026.

Great, as if we don't have enough injury prone forwards now we're buying them as well. Seriously did any other club try to sign Kobe or was it just us again. No frills forward Kobe Hetherington's secret battle with an agonising injury is proving to be Brisbane's inspiration as they charge towards the grand final.

Seriously, that's what you take from the article. These guys have trained all off-season and then played 25 matches in the hardest competition in the world, and you want to carry on about him being injury prone.Great, as if we don't have enough injury prone forwards now we're buying them as well. I agree that the article gives us some hope that Kobe is an effort player that is not gunna quit (and hopefully it means that this season was not his ceiling)... BUT I reckon @mickqld has every right to question the benefits of bringing ANOTHER player into our squad that is injury-prone (particularly a forward)... ongoing injuries to Tent, Sauce, Frog and Sips have cruelled us the last couple of seasons (and then throw in Guac and Jurbo this year)...Seriously, that's what you take from the article. I think if you go through any club at the end of the season there would be plenty of players in this situation.
He’s not injury prone. Averages 22-23 games a year over the last 4 seasons. No one would say Bullemor is injury prone & he averages around the same as him over the same period.I agree that the article gives us some hope that Kobe is an effort player that is not gunna quit (and hopefully it means that this season was not his ceiling)... ...plus we have the never-ending hammy issue with our best player....
Let's hope he can keep managing those injuries just as well when he gets here then @OhgeezHe’s not injury prone. Averages 22-23 games a year over the last 4 seasons. No one would say Bullemor is injury prone & he averages around the same as him over the same period.
He's not getting any younger and injuries like that can become debilitating and ongoing. I'm not saying he's going to be another Aloiai but we did buy Josh knowing his sketchy injury history. I just don't want to see history repeated.Seriously, that's what you take from the article. When has Koula had never ending hammy issues?I agree that the article gives us some hope that Kobe is an effort player that is not gunna quit (and hopefully it means that this season was not his ceiling)... He had a good second half of the year, keeps playing like that and you may be right…When has Koula had never ending hammy issues?
