Fogerty offers a fresh start. Not sure he needs ti be better rather than different

Our style, our approach that we gave too many opportunities, was not working. Fogerty is a better change than more fudging . We have to grow up and play big boy footy now, the grind , and having someone who knows the journey is better than handing it to youth or brooksy alone

DCE is not a bad footy player, but as captain, halfback, most capped and leader his influence just didnt cut the mustard on so many levels

DCE may very well add extra to an established system, a well built squad , and for cheap enough dollars, but you can not build a team around the enigma. 8 year security had given the club little leverage other than to accept the situation

But to change Manly we needed another 7, a newcaptain, a new voice and a new navigator , and no one had the balls to make him 14, so here we are, and i welcome the fog, a new approach, a different dynamic around the ball, and jakey at press conferences

I watched him closely , he had one bad miss , which did lead to a try , otherwise he went pretty well.

So I think the “ poor in defence “ is better put “ one very bad defensive lapse”.

He had 4 missed tackles , but that was pretty average for all their forwards 3-5 being the average.

He was never signed as a superstar
Agree to disagree. He was left on the ground around the ruck on a number of occasions because he lost the contact and couldn’t get to marker. I’m not just looking at poor reads and/or misses, rather the all round effectiveness of his contact and contribution to his side winning the ruck. I wasn’t impressed.

I agree he has not been signed as a superstar and I’m still happy with his move to Manly, just don’t think he was good yesterday.
