Yes, you could move Marty into the second row and improve the attack there compared to what is currently being achieved. However, as has already been stated, Marty is not as good in defense as our current Second Row.
The other factor is that having one impact prop doesn't help. The big guys help each other. Marty gets good metres and a quick play the ball then feeds into good metres for the next guy. Take him out of the equation and you lose one of your impact guys in the middle. Jake can't do it all. This is the (stated) reason Aaron Woods left.
