I could be wrong here but I’m pretty sure with Laifai on the field we scored 28 points & conceded 0. Him on the bench they won 14-0. Goes to show how much a dominant front rower can help the team when laying the platform for the backs to do their work. Looks like a special player, those kick off returns were great to see, 10+ post contact metres every time including a couple offloadsLaifai was an absolute beast today! Skittled the Warriors forwards from every kick off charging like a maniac off the back fence. Extremely hard for them to handle getting our sets off to a great start.
Ziadas was very crafty from hooker. Ran the ball well, jumping out from half drawing defenders and bringing his forwards onto the ball. Looked very sound in defence as he is a bigger body. Good short kicking game earning us a few repeat sets from drop outs.
Only thing I seen was slight indecisiveness in attack but that may be down to a lack of training and building combinations with the Ball side.
Large had some great moments. Scoring a try up the middle using his speed to glide through. Great TA kick to the corner setting up his winger. Had some good touches ball playing out the back. Would definitely like to see him take the line on a little more though but that will come over time.
Agree 100% with what you said about the others, Large kept it simple but his ball playing did impress me after a bit of a concern in the trial last week. Thought Alexander also had a good game, Very illusive & had a couple great try assists.
