As Geoff Toovey once said
“There needs to be an investigation”
With the Fox incident, it appears it is only scratching the surface of what appears to be a massive problem in the NRL

It looks like The Fox has been shown the door and Marcelo Montoya is to replace him. Does anyone rate him? That’s two Wahs players making the move now with Jazz Tevunga to the eagles & now Montoya

One of the best yardage wingers in the comp. To’o in a league of his own but Montoya would be at the top of the next tier. He is also a fine finisher. The only concern is his ability to come up with a costly error. He’s certainly a good signing.

Sounds promising, where do you think Addo Carr will end up?

Agree the bloke is good but has a brain fart in him. Interestingly i read he is a Bulldogs Junior. So its a homecoming.

Montoya was good when he was at the Dogs originally and I was surprised he was let go, is a good (re)signing and is an upgrade to a perennially injured injured JAC.

JAC has been good but his primary asset (speed) has taken a hit with his injuries. This is absolutely not surprising. Speedy wingers generally have a short shelf life and JAC has done well in his career to keep it going as long as he has. One more retirement contract in NRL or better yet, Superleague and he's done.

I can see Saints, Eels, or Souths making a play…in saying that, the Dogs will probably have to carry a little freight and wingers don’t command huge dollars so there’d be many many clubs that could squeeze him in. It’s anyone guess right now.

I can just see Saints paying overs, Eels are in a clean out and Souths have his good mate Latrell and a coach that backs himself to get the ‘troubled stars’ in line.

He brought his club and the game into disrepute, I'm sure that is a violation of his contract, so no payout would be due.
Pretty sure if they could have sacked him they would have, he's too expensive and they don't need a winger they need a forward.
The RLPA has negotiated that clubs can't sack players for a minor infringement. I've no idea how that is defined in the fine print, but I note that the driving offence Josh committed is a fine only offence (and short suspension from driving). Not as serious as mid range PCA, for example, where maximum penalty is jail.

The way Gus has played it makes it seem much more than a minor one…

From memory the penalties at law are exactly the same as low range drink driving, but the illegality of drugs v legality of alcohol means its a worse look for the NRL.
There might have been some player sacked for a first offence of drug possession, but I can't remember it happening. Certainly have been quite a few players busted in recent years either with drugs or with 'white powder' etc they tend to get big headlines, big fines, have to say sorry, miss a couple of games I think.
