My personal opinion is when jorge returns get him power running off the bench on the edges.firstly because ive always wanted to see how he'd in the second row with his Metre eating skills, powerful stints off the bench perfect replacement for the role lewis brown now plays, could cover an injured back and lastly because i think Wright has been solid without being spectacular and only to improve and the icing on the cake is from memory hes the best/most consistent goalkicker we've in a long time which in previous years probably wins us at least 4 more games a season when you look back? Thoughts? Just curious if anyone thinks likewise? At least give it a try one game

Just a quick correction should have titled it as utility rather than 2nd row.full of energy in short bursts i think would only make him more lethal as he can be over 80 on the wing..compounding this also is it takes away the odd drop ball horhay has on the wing catching bombs or whatnot.
I only see it as a win win win.there's at least 3 benefits straight off the bat

He wont be up for the amount of fitness required or the defensive tasks, and when he moves to the back compared to others he is relatively small. Wright should stay wing with Jorge to somehow have to find a way back in.

Yeah you make a good point there i never really took defence into account but just havin a fantasy coaching moment in my head lol...presume u agree about Wright though ive been pretty happy he seems to have slotted in well playing solid and kicking a few goals

Perhaps off the bench, we don't need a utility anymore imo

Can't see how this would ever happen. Playing an edge at NRL level isn't something Taufua could pick up at this stage of his career. Too specialised a position these days. Taufua has been a good winger for Manly, but I am not sure there is much value putting him in the forwards.

It's happened in the past. A perfect example is Luke Lewis, who started out on the wing for the 'Riff. Rubin Wiki moved from the wing to an international-class prop. Wade Graham is another one who has been incredibly successful in his move from the backs to the forwards. Lawrence from the Tigers . . . there are many examples which a stat master such as Ryan would be able to list.

Power running and busting tackles should not be a problem for Jorge in a forward "s role and when he reverted to full back in one game for Manly some years ago and for a different attack role , again he showed his prowess , so positional attack would not be a problem for him as a forward - back rower . However defensive positional adjustment and lateral defence adapting would be Jorge"s main challenge for any move to the pack by him.

I love Jorge ... but the man has difficulty reading the defence at the best of times ... to think that he could play the most important defensive position on the field (2nd row) as an edge defender and structural link is madn.. is optimistic.

He would struggle with the following Defensive reads. Adjusting lines. Effective offloads. Changing direction

Jorge runs over or through opposition so running lines shouldn't be a problem. Picking the holes would be.

Cant see it. But i have been proven wrong before...... Whatever works best for the club, works for me.

Lewis Brown @;)

Yeah true, I reckon baz could help him adjust well to playing on the edge

He'd be an improvement to brown. Although I think the real question is will he be our winger. It's a two horse race between him and Wright

As @Woodsie said he'd struggle (at least initially) in reading the defence
