Joey Walsh

Maybe that is going to be a consideration but even a fair portion of a 650 K contract would be a big ask of any S L club let alone the fact Fogarty is hardly a household N R l name and 32 next year
Wish it was not a quite likely problem coming up but will just have to be dealt with as best as possible i guess
If the Raiders win the GF this year they’ll certainly know him then

I think ideally the club would have loved two years BUT he wouldn’t have signed for that 🤷🤷🤷
Realize that was a factor and Walsh , again , having some issues getting back into the swing of things early on but not helping how things seem to be evolving right now with the 3 year deal
.Guess that it is also again going to come down to how much better can Walsh get next season as opposed to Fogarty "s expected steady or solid role

Fair enough but a 650 K contract to reconcile with or freight wise , not an easy matter but may just have to be sorted somehow without disadvantaging Manly too much and if it has to be down the track soon
Taking into consideration all other halves this year for mine Fogarty is top shelf. No other half has played more consistently & that includes Hughes, Munster, Burton etc. Sam Walker for mine is no.1 closely followed by Fogarty……just my opinion. DCE right now is the worst half going around. I can’t wait to see what Foggy brings to our team next season. I think he’ll also get Brooks back on track. Many are saying Manly can’t win a premiership with Fogarty & Brooks….fu<king bull****! If we can score a couple of good forwards before the start of 2027 combined with Olakau’atu, Bully, TKO, Brbo & youngsters Hart, Bryan, Navale, Pua’avase etc we will go places! Our backs can & will be dynamic with some leadership!

Good summary not sure if there can be or may a similar correlation with Walsh as there was with Weekes but Manly had a few or expected longer term options at one while Weekes was on the books
Whereas , only looks like an aging Fogarty going forward right now for a 7 role and Walsh , young and emerging but admittedly , still has to get his i st grade spurs yet

Getting our backline to fire has been our biggest failure last few years.
Lots of reasons why, hopefully the new 7 is given the authority to control things.

No stress or rush on Walsh, he is coming along well.

1st drop halves cover next year mean he should get half a dozen or more games then he hopefully transitions to start in 27 with Brooks likely to move on
Not sure Fogarty or Brooks will be getting picked for rep teams, so I guess Walsh will only get a shot if one of the first-choice halves is injured. With any luck he'll be ready if he gets a chance.

Yep, manager already making veiled threats to Grimace. Pick him in 1st grade soon or we're gone. The flog won't listen to the signals.

Watching him play against the bigger bodies in Cup he does well in defence.

The combination with Wakeham in Cup goes good, has a few inconsistent minutes in his game like most younger players coming through, definitely catches the eye and he will be putting pressure on Brooks to perform more consistently.

Fogarty will be good for Walsh, his game will grow learning off Fogarty.

DCE and Brooks have both been playing below expectations with the ball, getting a game or some minutes this season would be good for his development and highlight what he needs to work on this offseason.
