Honestly, I think this is the confidence the Titans need. Hayne was on top of his game when he left, he may be a bit rusty on Rugby League, but I bet he is fit as, would have done training with the Rugby sides, and picked up new skills in the NFL. I think it will be a master stroke, the Titans were the better side against the Sharks, and I can see Hayne bringing that class to push them well into the semis for sure.

My thoughts;
1. will be a disruption to the Titans players and coaching staff
2. will not be match fit for a number of weeks
3. Allowing him to play when the rules state a contract needs to be lodged and accepted by 30 June brings the game into disrepute
4. Hayne spent his press conference stating he wanted to be at the Eels. Must be great for the Titans and Neil Henry to hear that.
5. Neil Henry looked completely disinterested, and dare I say pissed off when hearing Hayne's blubbering that he want to go back to the Eels. Can't blame the poor bastard after working so hard to build a team given no chance to have this disruption thrown at him

I don't think the titans team will get anything but a boost from this. Neil Henry has done such a good job with this team, even at half his best Hayne is still a very good fullback and at worse he'll still have a positive impact on the rest of the titans team.
I think the titans have struck gold here. Next year they'll have a spine of Hayne, Taylor, Elgey and Peats. With a few savvy purchases in the off season they'll push for the top 4 next season.

But as it has panned out the Titans are better off without Cherry-Evans and his big contract. They wouldn't have been in a financial position to sign former Eels and NFL star Hayne.

Hurrell has scope to go into backrow rotation which can push Mead to the wing and Mcdonald into centre.

The NRL will probably push pretty hard for the Tits to get a premiership in the next few years. The future of the franchise probably depends on it.

I don't know how he'll be able to make it through a game, stamina-wise.

Gridiron is so specialised and they don't focus on anything more than 6 or 7 seconds per play.

He's bulked up massively but his cardio is questionable. Remember that NFL player who came over to play in the '90's, bragging about how he'd kill it in rugby league? He lasted about 10 minutes in 1 game and then quit.

The pace and hardness of the game changes quite a bit every year. $2.4 million is a big risk.

But if the club is being mainlined cash from News Limited, then if Hayne is rubbish, at least he can focus on his next 'dream' (I've heard the new dream is being a Barry Manilow tribute singer. But we've all dreamed of doing that during our lives).

The NRL are just shooting themselves in the foot over and over, and the fans are getting more and more peeved. The sheer amount of bugger-ups going on in so many different areas is disturbing.

In the end, as long as The Dude abides, I can rest easy.
